The founders of Cardano and Polkadot were also co-founders of Ethereum. 

They saw the issues that ETH was going to have with scaling early on and broke out to start their new projects in 2017 

Both projects are now ahead of Eth 2.0 

In 2021 both projects will be complete and projects will start launching on their platforms the same way nearly every project was launched with an erc20 token on Ethereum in 2017 

Both DOT and ADA have market caps around $5 billion 

Eth market cap is $69 billion

 I see that Binance is listed as top exchange for polkadot. Is that exchange still available to U.S. folks or do we need a vpn to use it? Rookie question, but how are you purchasing crypto these day? Im intrigue by your Dots crypto prediction and thinking of getting a jab at it.

I use KuCoin to buy Polkadot and Uniswap to buy Polkastarter 

If you’re going to keep it on KuCoin you can stake it in Pool X. This can all be pretty confusing so let me know if you have any questions throughout the process. 

US users have US Binance — they don’t have Polkadot and it sucks compared to the real Binance.
