The Dollar earns dollars. Put the Dollar in a savings account and you get interest on it..your gold in a vault, on your neck or in your jewelry box doesn't earn a cent. Put the dollar and buy yourself a business and it will yield you more dollars(of course that is if you are a smart business man).
Gold has indeed BEEN the PRIZE since humanity has been created but that is because humanity are fools(God says so and I believe Him). But what we are in an ENLIGHTENING age, (as you can see more and more folk are fleeing the church buildings and the church doctrines and coming to a deeper spiritual understanding of God's Word). As more and more people become enlightened, more and more people will not pursue after literal physical gold which is worthless. They will pursue with everything they have that which is priceless--WISDOM OF GOD! You see, Let me explain.. One with wisdom can be stripped of all their personal belongings and not be stripped of the SOURCE to all their riches, thus they never care what is stolen from them because its never anything they can't make back.
Take Buffet as an example-- Lets say some one was able to steal all his money and Buffet was left without a single cent.. lets say for argument sake he had no insurance on it either. Because Buffet has a reputation of being a very savvy and wise investor, he will have people running and giving him their money to invest for them. So Buffet's MONEY is worthless- Buffet's wisdom is priceless.
Gold is crap. Idk if we all will be alive to see the day(although it happening rapidly) but the day will come where humanity will look at gold and laugh- people won't want it even if it was given to them for free.

Gold IMO should be viewed as no more than a Hedge. When the fear-factor is high and people are running for the hills, Gold emerges as it did after the financial crisis.

I would buy silver over gold any day. We are using all the above grouns silver much faster than it is being mined. It is undervalued in my opinion and gold will drop as you say.

Interesting! I didn't realize Covers.com had an investment forum!
Back in the mid 90's I used to day trade stocks. I made some good money some days, and of course lost my behind on some others.
Recently, I had some gold Pamp Suisse 1 oz bars that I had bought in the $350 range and sold out just before gold ran to $1,000; I didn't believe gold would hold $1,000. I agree gold is going to come down under $1000 an ounce, but back to $400? I don't know about that.
Personally, I like Palladium because as long as we need catalytic converters in cars, we need Platinum or Palladium. When Platinum is too expensive palladium can be substituted. I was thinking about getting some 1 oz bars or rounds if/when Palladium touches $650 an ounce. I have no technical analysis or any real sound reason for that particular price just an artificial gamble point more than anything. Any thoughts?
