Another Vegas trip 4/11 to 4/14

As we came in over the mountains and approached the airport, Mrs. Fish reached for the air sickness bag. Fortunately, she held it in as we landed safely. I loved the look on her face as we came down the escalator and she saw the man holding the sign with our name on it. Within minutes, we were in the comfort of a gold MGM stretch limo, on our way to the City of Entertainment
. Soon, we were in our Suite and Mrs. Fish was very happy. My host had a basket of goodies waiting for us along with a bouquet of roses that I had requested for my better half. Shortly thereafter, the bellman arrived with our bags and my wife unpacked while I headed down to the casino
. Unfortunately, I was back up to the suite for more seed before she had everything put away
. We then went downstairs together and had lunch at the studio cafe while I chomped at the bit to get back to the tables. After lunch, my wife went to the spa for a massage and I went back to blackjack and proceeded to drop another grand in rapid fashion. Things were not going well, so I got up and went to the crazy horse bar and drank my sorrows away while playing video poker. The wife soon found me and we went upstairs for a nap.........

After a much needed nap, I showered and got dressed for dinner, then headed down stairs for a little blackjack while Mrs. Fish got ready. Not much had changed as the dealers were still hot and there was a bonehead at every table. I left the high stakes pit and went looking for a quarter table in the pit over by the hollywood theatre. Found a table with a very attractive blonde named Christine. I couldn't believe that I was finally getting some decent cards and the other three at the table seemed to know how to play. I got on a little run and was slowly stepping up my bets. The table seemed to be going our way as Christine had just busted for the third time in a row and everybody won. I upped my bet again and turned to tip the cocktail waitress. As I turned back, I couldn't believe that the jackass at first base had opened another hand. Don't you know, I get a pair of bullets and split only to get another one. Now I've got 900 on the table and get 2,3,2 on top of my aces. Christine pulls 21 and takes everyone's money. I was livid
. Just then my wife shows up and it's almost time for our dinner reservation. Thank God she showed up or I might have killed the dude at 1st base. I'm still pissed about that hand. How the flock do you open another hand after the dealer breaks three times in a row? I guess it's my fault for not backing down my bet, but I was consumed by the large breasts of the cocktail waitress and didn't realize the new hand was opened. I threw Christine the last green chip I had and told her I'd see her tomorrow. Mrs. Fish and I headed off towards Fiamma where we had an 8pm reservation......

We got a great table at Fiamma for dinner. Since my wife is with child and I had been on the Bacardi all day, we stayed away from selecting any wine. I stuck with Bacardi and my wife just had iced tea. We had an antipasto type appetizer that had lots of different meats and cheeses and it was awesome. For dinner, we both had the risotto with lobster, shrimp and scallops. I had them leave the scallops off mine (had a bad experience with them when I was young
) and doubled up on the shrimp. We were both so full that we passed on dessert, but the food was great and my wife and I got to spend some really nice time together for the first time in a long time.

I walked my wife back up to our suite and changed clothes to head down to the casino. She was tired and decided to stay upstairs. I should have just stayed upstairs because I couldn't catch a cold at the tables. 9999999999999*+++++++ (Lil Fish has figured out how to touch the keys on the keyboard) I ended up taking my last 300 to the craps table and made it last for a few hours before going back upstairs. Turned out to be a very tough first day, but I was in Vegas and just knew things would get better on Saturday......

Got up on Saturday and we had breakfast the Studio Cafe while we decided what to do for the day. My wife had asked me to take her to see the Wynn, so we hopped on the monorail and rode up to Harrah's and walked across the street to the Mirage. I looked and couldn't find a quarter table that didn't have a shuffler and all the $50 and $100 tables had no one playing at them. I wasn't about to try and play by myself so we took the little tram up to Treasure Island. I'd never been there before, but I was not at all impressed with the casino. Couldn't find a decent table there either so we walked over to the Wynn.
All I can say is WOW. What a beautiful hotel. We walked around a bit to check the place out and we both couldn't believe how nice it was. Found a $50 table and sat down at first base with $500. First hand, Blackjack! . Couldn't believe it but it soon went back south. I was getting decent cards but couldn't win any doubles or splits. I decided to try one more shoe and laid out another $500. It was a good shoe as I had it back up to $1200 and then it went south as I stepped up my bets and and got pounded back to $500. Waited for the cocktail waitress to return with my drink and we went looking for another table. Found a quarter table with a shoe so we sat down. I just couldn't catch a coldand blitzed through $700. At that point, Mrs. Fish insisted that we leave. No wonder the Wynn is such a beautiful hotel..........

3. On the first ace, I was dealt another ace.
4. I split that pair of aces too.

I've been very busy with out of town work. I apologize for the delay in finishing.
We left the Wynn and walked south along the strip and made our way to Ceasar's. We walked in at the north end of the Forum Shoppes and got lost quickly. I couldn't believe how much the mall had changed. On the way to the casino, I stopped and grabbed Cleopatra's nips and my wife almost died laughing. Hit the casino and sat down at a 25 table. Couldn't get anything going. I'd win a hand and step it up and get nailed. Made 500 last an hour and we left as we had a date with Bon Jovi.
When we got back to our suite, there was a bottle of wine and a really nice gift basket that included a Bon Jovi T-shirt for my wife from my host. I enjoyed the wine while I soaked in the tub and my wife got ready to go. We decided to grab a quick dinner at the Studio Cafe before the concert. I had a steak and my wife had surf and turf that came with a very nice lobster. Even though it's MGM's 24 hour resturant, the food is damn good. After some cheese cake for desert we were off to see Bon Jovi.

I was really surprised by the wait to get into the Grand Garden Arena as I'd never been to an event there. Apparently, there's only one way in and one way out. Once we got to our seats, I forgot about the hassle of getting to them, even though we missed Daughtry's first two songs. My host hooked us up with great seats and my wife was thrilled. Daughtry closed with his hit and rocked.
Then Bon Jovi came on stage and my wife went off. I was never really a Bon Jovi Fan, but damn, they put on a great show. The coolest thing was that our seats were so close to the stage that my wife was about 3 feet away from touching her teenage heart throb. It was a great show and I came away as a new Bon Jovi fan, not to mention Daughtry.
We headed back for the casino and looked for a table. Nothing looked inviting, so I we went back upstairs. We sat on the bed and looked out the window at the strip that was all lit up. My wife said she was tired and told me to go get our money back. I headed downstairs..........

Fish the point of my aces question is that you can split any pair in vegas especially on the strip except for aces. i have been going to vegas since my 21st birthday in 1978 yes im an old guy and i dont think they changed the rules recently. i live in arizona and go to vegas about 6 to 7 times a year mostly for sports betting but i do play blackjack when im there also . im not trying to be a jerk because your story has been great but that just make it sound a bit hokey with the 3 aces hand embellish is fine but bs is bs correct me im wrong about the rules i was last there fore elite 8 weekend . i always stay at excalibur because they comp me not the greatest place but the location is good to alot other casinos like mgm where you stayed . frree is free take care
