LOOKING FOR THE BEST SPORTSBOOK IN DOWNTOWN.... NORMALLY HANG OUT AT THE EL CORTEZ , GOOD SPORTS CONVERSATON WITH THE REGULARS THERE

Everyone knows the class of downtown LV is the Golden Nugget.  It really depends on what you look for in a sportsbook.  The book at the California isn't bad either but Golden Nugget is tops downtown.

Never been to the Nugget's Book, But will be there for a weekend in early march. Will check it out, thanks

when i lived up in ''the lakes'' section ( SAHARA & DURANGO),,,,,,,,,,MY COMFORT SPOT WAS THE PALACE STATION,,,,,,NOTHING LIKE WINNIN A DIME,,,,TTHEN GOING TO EAT AT THE OYSTER BAR..,,,,,I MISS IT BAD..

This is the absolute no debate mortal lock. Big screens nice writers comfy seats and couches. Personal TV at each seat etc etc Golden Nugget is tops by far

El cortez has a large contigent of locals if you want to talk sports you can always find someone to debate but it is in a bad area and some of the people there are  nasty.

What's not to love at Leroy"s
atmosphere up the wazoo
$5 hookers
2 guys who slept under a bridge splitting a $1 exacta waitting until
  StVincents is serving.

Actually 666 it has gotten worse in this economy, now 4 guys share the exacta ticket

but at least the hookers are now $3

El Cortez is the best for drink tickets. GN only gives 1 ticket for a 50$ bet.

I'm there to gamble, not spend my roll on the trip itself..... as long as i got a cold brew and a live bet thruout the day i'm fine..... besides i visit vegas atleast once a month, do alot of bus trips and about 4 weekend visits per year. No need to hang out with the tourist, was just looking for a lead to a decent sportsbook other than my favorite.

The Dome at the Plaza is a good place to watch games.  They have a betting window in the bar (good for 2nd Half betting). Only down fall is no free drinks or drink tickets at the Plaza.  The Dome has cheap 2$ beers.

I like to look at it as "Old Style Vegas" that really doesn't exist anywhere else.
