I'll be heading to Vegas probably in January.  Ceasars has the most comfortable sportsbook but the worst lines and options.  No buying half a point of he number 3 and 7 and no second half bets.  Most gamblers don' realize how lucky we are with the offshore books and all the choices, Most Vegas casino sportsbooks suck for bet variations.  When you get the printout of lines from all Harrahs properties read the back its brought to you by the one and only Covers.com.

MWC - I don't know that avatar is kinda freaking me out!  OK - I will let you know!  We are staying at IP and spend most of our time in the Venetian Sports Book or at Spearmint Rhino or one of those establishments!
 
Any recommendations from a local on places to go - Is it worth going to the Playboy table games at the Rio?  Is the new Planet Hollywood (old Aladin) open yet?  Let me know what you think?

pezeveng - Yes that is true!  Can get the best lines downtown but the sports books are little rooms or dumps!  We go to the Venetian just for the waitresses, free beer and TV's (comfortable sitting) and viewing!  Like the burgers there and the noodle bar - Bathrooms are close!  Cool - I will check that out!

The IP sportsbook is kinda lame, fyi.  The Venetian is nice.  But, I'm not too hung up on that kind of stuff as long as I find a number I like and can get a bet down without hassles, then I'm fine!  Right now, I'd say we meet at the bar next to the sportsbook at the Venetian, but I know the IP better, but we can hash that out later.
 
You mean Playboy at the Palms?  I'll assume yes.  You have to pay a cover just to get into the Playboy Club in order to even get to the tables to gamble.  Last time I was there, BJ tables were $50 and up.  If you have the funds and want to rip it up man, I say go for it.  But if not, I'd pass.
 
Yeah, PH is open, although there is still tons of construction around that area. 
 
As far as recommendations, shit man, there's just too many options for one to recommend.  Depends on what you're into, etc.  I'd say, if your gonna be here just to gamble and tear it up...just stick to the strip and downtown, and of course the titty bars. 
 
The Rhino is a good one, no cover for locals .  Some people don't like the OG (Olympic Gardens), but I like the place...it can get pretty nasty (in a good way).  Most titty bars in Vegas are full contact and touch, especially on weekends and nights, I do know that girls at the OG and Rhino are pretty liberal about that kind of thing!  Stay away from the Can-Can room.  The Palamino is the only full nude with alcohol in town.  But man, it's in the mutha-fuckin' 'hood.  It can be fun on weekends.  But, I don't really recommend it, unless your downtown (shorter cab ride) and feeling adventurous.
 
There's a good book called The Little Black Book - Guys Guide to Las Vegas, that I highly recommend.  I was apprehensive about this book, cause most of these "guides" are bullshit. But, I read it after vacationing here for years and after I moved here, and I was very impressed.  If you can get a copy for you leave, you should.

Did a Friday morning to Monday morning trip last weekend.  Its now Thursday and I have almost recuperated.  Won a little, lost a lot.  Had a blast.  Stayed at MGM, went to Hard Rock, Wynn and Caesars.

Damn that sucks.  When I was there last Dec/Jan as long as you hooked the cocktail waitresses up you could get a liquor drink/shot and a beer with each order.  Needless to say it was fucking awesome.

Is this really true?  MAN - That SUCKS!  Is there any Sports book in Vegas that still just gives the Free Drinks?

Any Help?  I tried to call the Venetian and the operator couldn't get anyone in the Sports Book so she told me to call back!  Great service!
 
Just want to know are we going to have to pay $7 a beer and only get 1 drink ticket for every $50 bet we make. I usually drink 15-20 beers a day when sitting watching my bets and I don't place 15-20 $50 bets so I will be spending like $100-$200 a day on beer?

Its funny that you talk about the olympic garden because I just came back from vegas for the first time. I was pissed that they were not fully nude but they let you feel on em everywhere. Totally opposite from Atlanta where they take everything off but you cant touch. I plan on going back again in january when i can get my money up. Tell me about the palamino, thats the type of place that I was looking for but couldnt find. Cab drivers dont know shit! And one last thing, if you go to the olympic garden, find this beautiful hawaiin chick and tell her to call pedro.

I will be in Vegas that same weekend.  I was there in March and we mostly hung out at the Palms Sportsbook.  They were pretty good about giving drink tickets. The Orleans is also decent for giving drink tickets if you get the right person(there rule is two drink tickets per day, but most are pretty cool and give you extra). we had four people go to window and make a total of about $400 in bets and tipped the guy 10$ and he gave us a stack of about 30 drink tickets.  Also the Orleans is very cool about giving free drinks if you sitting at the bar and playing video poker while watching the games.  MGM sucks-No drinks. Excaliber is OK for drink tickets if you tip the window person. One girl was very cool and would hook-up the drink tickets. The last time I was at the Rio(about 2 years ago) they would give you free drinks if you showed your bet slips(waitresses were HOT!). I don't know the current rule.
This time I am staying D'town at the Plaza. I will check out the sportsbook at the El Cortez(I heard they just updated their sportsbook and it is decent, and 6pt. teasers pay -110, odds on the strip suck). I also read that they give you a drink for every $10 you bet.

Bellagio and Harrah's let us drink for free with slips but that was 2 years ago.  My buddies just got back and said they still drank for free at the Bellagio SportsBook.  I can live with one ticket per $10 bet for for 1 per $50 I'm staying home
