Guide to a good time in Vegas...from a Locals point of view

As someone who has lived out here and bartended out here for 8 years now let me throw in my 2 cents here and try to give you a few things to do.....You mentioned you will be here in the summer. I say fly out on a Thursday about noonish. Ideally I would come out Late August or early Sept. This way you can get a little baseball action in as well as some pre-season or even regular season college /pro football. The day you land try to hook up with a limo driver to take you back to the hotel. This is key because if you get a cool driver he is going to be able to get you EVERYTHING you want for that whole week. Dont know what kind of partying you do but if you need anything he will be the man. Also not sure if you know this but limo drivers out here get $20 a man for EVERYONE they drop off at a strip club every night from the club. So if you are planning on doing that dont EVER pay for a ride there as most of them are willing to take you for free if you have a group of guys. If he is a good driver he will have plenty of line passes for clubs or atleast be able to make a phone call or 2 to get you guys in. He will also be able to get you any hookers you need without you having to worry about getting busted. The key to this whole thing is taking care of this guy from the get go!!! Throw some money around early. Believe me , it will go a LONG way. Ok....so you have just been dropped off at the hotel on Thursday afternoon. Lets just assume you are staying somewhere center of the strip. We will say Flamingo. Go to the sportsbook and grab a Sheet for that nights baseball action. Throw in a $5 ,4 teamer for shits and giggles and be sure to ask for a drink ticket. Now go get an ice cold carona with that ticket and grab you buddys and head on down to Margaritaville at the Flamingo for lunch. Outdoor seating overlooking the strip so you can cap games out in the sun while drinking your bucket of colds ones and checking out the chicks walking by ...most of them in next to nothing. Believe me, at this point you are gonna be wanting to pack up and move here. Now go check ou your hotel pool for some talent. anything you get here will be a bonus because unless you are staying at one of the top 4 or 5 hotels out here you WONT be hanging out at your hotel pool. The others just pale in comparison to the big 5 out here. But I will get back to that. Ok....after the pool go grab a case of beer somewhere on the strip for 12 bucks. Seems you are on a budget and will be well worth it. Actually just tell your driver to stop at a store on the way to the hotel...Much easier. Load up the sink with ice and you are set with beers for a few days. Thursday night I suggest just keeping it chill. Nothing crazy as far as dinner, gambling, getting all coked up or whatever as you will need your energy for everything else I got planned for the rest of this weekend.....So go grab a burger or some pasta and plant your ass in the book with your tickets spread out in front of you on the table and kick back...watch some games and bullshit with the boys you are with about he good life is right now. About the time of the last pitch of the Padre game it will be about 10:30 out here. Go cash in a few winners and hope you have a few bucks to hit the casino floor for an hour or 2. Just get the lay of the land. I dont know how much I can actually type in here so Im gonna start a new box........

Ok.....Day 2: Im gonna go out on a limb here and assume you guys play a little golf. Grab the boys and hit the links early in the morning as it will get a bit warm in the afternoon. This is the cheap season for golf out here so you should be able to get away with a round of decent golf...rentals and a six pack of Keystone lt. for around a hundred bucks. Drink up...bullshit ...smoke a few stogies and prepare yourself for what is the 2nd best pool party in vegas. Its Friday in vegas and that means Ditch Fridays at the Palms. Clean your act up go grab some lunch at Guardinos at the palms ...good mexican....do a few shots of tequila and prepare to see some of the hottest chicks in North America. This goes on every Friday at the palms. There is a mix of what I call regular chicks and chicks who are there working it. The girls that are really dolled up will be the strippers working on their tan...cocktail servers, bartenders, dancers, and just a lot of hot girls who work in the industry out here who are promoting their shifts and getting people to come down to their spots. These will be good people to meet as they will give you a little more of the lowdown of what is going on that weekend in the club/bar scene. A good time should be had by all at the pool.

    Now on to friday night.....I would make this the night to hit a nice resturant with the boys. I would suggest anywhere in Ceasars...plenty to choose from. This would also be the night I would hit up a club as you are gonna get the chicks at their prime. They get off that plane out here and they cant wait for that 1st night to put on that skimpy dress and do shot after shot after shot. They are full of energy of friday nights....usually their 1st night here. They dont have that sunday afternoon hungover look about them. I am not really a club guy at all but I would say to hit up Tryst at the Wynn. Plenty of atmosphere for you to choose from. Stay away from Pure at Ceasars. Way overrated and overpriced in my opinion. If you have been taking care of your driver he more than likely will be able to get 4-5 guys into Tryst no problem. Live it up now! This is Friday night in one of the Greatest cities in America for doing what you are doing right now. Dont be a drunk idiot from Texas now though. You are in an upscale place with a nice class of women. Dont be that guy. And dont forget to tip your bartender ......These plans should keep you busy till about 4 am on Friday. I hanent typed this much in about 18 years so if I have caught your interest let me know and I will throw out a few more things to do for Saturday and Sunday....

Ok...on to Saturday we go. I know its gonna be tough but you are gonna have to pull yourself out of bed early. We are on west coast time now and that barn-burner Uconn - Syracuse football game is about to kick off. Plenty of places to watch all the games on Saturday morning/afternoon. Some better than others. Just depends on what kind of atmosphere you want. Now I am a bit biased ...mostly because i worked there....but you cant go wrong at the ESPN Zone in NYNY. Can be a bit pricy depending on how much you eat or drink but if you stick to the nachos, burgers, and big 25oz draft beer you should be fine. They have like 185 Tvs in there. Mostly plazmas. Sports book is literally 10 steps out the door into the casino. Although I would suggest not using that book as its small and shitty and you will get 20 cent tourist lines. But it is good in a pinch. Plenty of cool people in the bar. Nice young staff. Plenty of 22 yr old chicks there pretending to like football that you can hit on. This should keep you busy all day.

        Saturday night is also a prime night in Vegas. Since you are not a huge club guy I would hit up a place called carnival court located outside in between Imperial palcae and Harrahs. Its a big round bar with those flare bartenders who flip bottles. Got live music and dancing all night long. Usually a cover band that does a great job of keeping it going. Also outdoor blackjack tables with chicks dealing you in their bikinis under nice cool misters while you drink a cold one. The bartenders do a great job of giving out plenty of free drinks all night...mostly a fruity concoction but it s free and does the job. With the amount of girls there it should be like shooting fish in a barrel. Also about 30 yards away into the casino at Harrahs is a cool piano bar. This all makes for a nice chill saturday night and since you are hanging in the middle of the strip you will have plenty of options. Right next door to Casino Royal with $1 Michelobes all night and $5 craps with 100x odds. I will be back with Sunday plans in a while..................
