Hes an attention person, He claims its a regular parlay off the board and not off a parlay card, BULLSHIT as VG said that is IMPOSSIBLE unless the guy at the window selling him the ticket was a moron or new with zero experience, If its the latter, Id laugh my ass off because his ticket should he win will be null and void.

Also If he is telling the truth, let him be a man and prove it with a screenshot of his ticket, Lets see it you foul mouthed cretin.

And furthermore I have never seen such a moron hell bent on finding out what the actually payout would be on a frigging 9 team parlay lol

Get the f*ck outta here with that sh*t man, Like you have a shot in hell of actually hitting it lol

The computer system used by MGM Resorts....made by CBS....can only print/compute a maximum of 8 items in a parlay.....a writer cannot make a mistake and add more items, the machine will not take it.

Son, I truly do not understand what you are angry about.

All I tried to accomplish was to answer your question about the apparent odds problem between actual and payoffs.

I am not pretending to be a "big shot"...as you say.....I enjoy this forum because of my sincere appreciation of Las Vegas(for over 30 years)  and what it offers as an amazing venue.

Being a city that is easily open to misinterpretation of why things are the way they are, I will, sometimes, come into this forum to offer what I consider to be an objective opinion. Your posting questioned the odds discrepancy and I tried to help and address that question...nothing more.

I did not say anything negative about you or what you said.....I did, however, point out that the foundation for your assertion was at fault. If that offended you, I am sorry....I was only stating a simple fact based upon my firsthand knowledge of the computer systems that are used on the Strip.....in this case, by MGM Resorts that, other than a football parlay card, it is impossible for the CBS system to print a 9-team parlay ticket that is created off the board.

I don't play more than 3-teamers, so I cannot tell you firsthand if any book takes a parlay that large....off the board.

I went to Vegasinsider.com, they have a parlay calculator.....their calculator goes up to 8.

I also looked at some "local sportsbooks":...cannot find any that take more than 8 items in a parlay off the board.

I assume that you no longer have the ticket.....Wish I could have helped you more with the negative outpouring in this thread.

Does any sports book allow you to take correlated parlays such as a hockey game +1.5 and under 6.5 in the same game?

Does any sports book allow you to take correlated parlays such as a hockey game +1.5 and under 6.5 in the same game?

I've known some writers who were suspended for those parlays...in hockey or baseball.....there are some locals that will give it to you sometimes....no real pattern to that.

PS: I would guess that less than 1% of all bettors understand the word correlated.

Maybe you can confirm this, but I believe the cantor books give the offshore odds on parlays, which are far better than the normal Vegas parlay odds.

Only from 4 teamers and up. Offshore and Vegas odds are the same for three teamers, but I believe cantor gives 47.4 odds on 6 team parlays while the other books give 40 to 1

Each parlay card (and each company) have different ways that they go about the ties issue...ties do not always lose on all parlay cards.

If you parlay off the board, a tie will reduce your parlay down, it will not cause a loss

A Fantasy Football buddy of mine, bet a$50 parlay quite a few years ago,not sure of the # of teams, but all moneyline dogs NFL.This was online and it came down to Philly @Dallas on MNF and Philly won.Paid 50gs. I don't even think he hedged it at all,it was a throwaway bet to clear his balance..Said it took months to get the $ out,but all paid.

One of those crazy NFL weeks where all/most of the dogs win outright.

Each book in town has their own house rules when it comes to parlays. Most have a limit of number of dogs you can include, and most cap out the payout at a specified level.

They also have the ability to change the number of teams to include in a parlay as the system they use does allow for more than 8 teams to be included on the ticket and in the calculation of payout.

Each property has their own specific rules (house rules) that are on display in the book and will be printed on the back of the parlay card.

Most properties frown upon you playing run line to total same game wagers, as they should be prevented by the writers.

Oh man, I really have start getting back on covers more often, what an awesome thread. Some dude demands answers to getting shorted on "potential" parlay payout odds, that he never won. Gets sh** on a little, then just talks a ton of sh** and insults anyone spending their time on answering his questions about his imaginary payouts and.... In the end still pretty much gets the answers he wanted.

Just a few personal thoughts here...

-Props to VegasGourmet for having more patience than Mother Teresa.
    - If this idiot has so much more money then everyone else why doesn't he get his butler to text a "KGB special agent" for 99 cents?
    - I have a hunch and would be willing to bet some parlays that this dude OSC003 is probably 5'3" or shorter, he has that angry midget tone one of my buddies always has. Either that or he's Venezeulan, no offense to anyone, but those motherf'rs are angry (*see MLB rosters)

Good luck though buddy, I hope you grow a few inches soon.

Well, I hit 7 out of 7 tonight so if I had put that into a parlay then yeah I would have won. I'm 6'5" actually and played basketball in college if you really want to know. So go fuck yourself.

Definitely one of those types of people that everyone who isn't one knows what I'm talking about.

And seriously, VegasGourmet, you rule for putting up with this twerp.

And OSC, you really should consider the advice about starting over...totally not cool to treat a guy, who was CLEARLY trying to help, like an ass. You're clearly quite socially awkward, and also seem to have no idea about sports betting, and to come into a forum where experienced sports handicappers are respected and suggest that because they have posted 12,000 posts means they have no life is really a way of insulting the entire community. To a guy who probably thinks a good time is eating a box of crayons sports betting may seem silly, but to a lot of people here they really enjoy it, not just for the betting, but also for the community, and they consider it a worthwhile pastime to hone their betting skills and dream of someday making a living at it. So seriously; pretty lame. It seems you are overly-defensive, assuming everyone is thinking you're dumb and stupid, and while that initially wasn't true, you fearing exactly that made that come to fruition. It's a conundrum, really, but I'm certain you're used to dealing with it more than just on internet forums...I would suspect this spills far over into your life. I'd suggest that when that like firecracker initially goes off in your head you just hold off on saying whatever you're going to say for a second and try to consider if what's making you angry actually should be; are these people really all making fun of you? Well yes, now they are, but next time you have a clean slate, ya know, think about it.

Anyhow, keep the posts coming, they make a great early-morning read! At first I didn't notice this thread had two pages, but damn did I smile when I realized there was! A great read, your material. Keep us up on your next 28-team parlay and how you only made a half-mil, how you have so much money, were an amazing college basketball player, and just altogether kick life's ass. Thanks for the laughs
