Leaving for Vegas in less then 48 hours!!

I am leaving for Vegas on Friday morning 11/9 at 7:00am from Minneapolis and will be walking the strip at 8:30am Vegas time!
 
Man - I can't wait!  Been looking over all of the college and NFL games for Sat & Sun as I will be spending most of Sat & Sun sitting in the Venetian Sportsbook watching games and drinking free beer! 
 
We are staying at Imperial Palace only because the guys I am going with like it because it is so close to the Venetian Sports Book where they like to watch the games and place their bets!
 
This is my 6th time to Vegas but my first time going during both NFL regular season and College football!  I used to go for March Madness and then went for the Superbowl and NFL playoffs last January!  I am totally pumped to be able to bet College all day Saturday and NFL all day Sunday!
 
Any suggestions of other things to do while I am there.  Anything new in the last 9 months.  Any gambling I do will probably be downtown - I play Blackjack, some craps and Roulette (just for the fun of it) and a few slots!

hope you guys have fun. btw, I live in Las Vegas but haven't been to the IP for a long time. their show room used to be one of the better places to watch the NFL games on sundays.

Word to the wise Bet...get their REALLY early on SUNDAY. IM talking like before 8 for SURE. Not sure about Saturday but It bet its just as bad. ALso, I think they charge you for beers in the sports book....

My bro just left the Mirage and he said they don't charge for beers at there sportsbook nor even ask for ticket stubs. He said he just hooked the lady up with a $20 spot and the drinks just kept flowin.

Cant wait to go I like the Venetian sports book as well but always end up at Ceasars or Bellagio.  They have a quick little daily $80 and $160 poker tourny there during the weekdays as the poker room is beside the sportsbook. 
 
Lots of great daily tourneys all over with very small buy-ins play in a couple they are fun and you may get lucky.

mmac66 - Does Venetian charge now for drinks - Never used to?  Might have to try Bellagio - Mostly horses isn't it?

Have fun!!! Weather there should be real nice this weekend. I went a couple weeks ago and it was like 70mph winds there and it sucked!! But I heard its real nice there again now.

BetToWin. Its pretty nice certainly not a belligio or anything but pretty nice. One guy made a comment earlier about the poker room being next to the sportbook room at belligio i found this very handy and the bar inbetween both of them makes it even better.

When I stayed at the bellaigo for my 21st birthday it was fucking best time of my life. one thing that you notice in the bellgio is that you dont hear all the click clatting noise from the slots machines. Man wish i was going to vegas this weekend. Once I save up enough money I will eventually live out there. Can't wait. D.C is played out for me now need to be able to go to local casinos besides Atlantic city. Sorry for the life story.

One more thing go to the shadow bar at ceasars. Not the biggest place, but i defintely scored with some normal chicks (aka not a hooker or stripper) their. The bartenders their are fucking nuts to man never seen shit they do before got to experience it man.

Last but not least there is a alcohol smoothie machine bar that is in the middle of belligio and casers connector walkway type of path. Dude fucking any flavor icey drink with any type of liqour. Words can't describe the greatness.

Hopefully I have gave you some good tips. Oh yeah stop by the mall across from Belligio and pick up some gear from tommy bahama store. lol have fun man.

legwand - I have been watching the weather and it looks nice - a little cool for vegas in the low 70's but it beats Minnesota where we are already in the 40's with cold wind.  It SUCKS!  I won't be outside much but nice when you do go out that the weather is nice.  Sometimes I golf in Vegas but not this time.  It has gotten so expensive and just going to gamble, sportsbook and maybe a few strip clubs!  Thanks
 
asloper6001 - Man, If I was a young single guy I would live in Vegas at least for a year - don't know how long I would last out there but it would be a blast.  The guys I am going with are pretty set in their ways with staying at the Imperial Palace and walking to the Venetian to watch sports.  I think we are going downtown on Friday because not much sports on Friday we get in at 8:30am but Sat & Sun will probably be in the Venetian all day unless drinks aren't free any more then we might have to go to Bellagio or Mirage!  Thanks

Poker room is right next to Sportsbooks at Bellagio, Mirage, MGM, Monte Carlo, Mandalay, Caesar's (kind of) and Rio......you'll have fun wherever you go.

I have gambled there before and actually WON but a couple of my friends got free buffet's comped there and weren't feeling so well after eating them.  Plus this group stays there every year and have told me not to expect much from the room!  I have seen the sportsbook - what a joke!  Thanks though it will be fine!  Not planning on spending much time in the room, sleep, shower, shit!

I got a sure fire way for you to win.    Talk to your friends and find out who they are betting on.   Preferably one of the dumber friends you have.    And then say "I'm gonna play that too"...

GREYHOUND - That is the smartest thing I have heard in a long time!  I wish I had access to Covers while I was out there so I could tail people like Bucky and rush but I will be on my own.  I actually paid $8 for the Goldsheet (Only time I buy it is when I go to Vegas) which is stupid because it is only right about 60% of the time.  I just hope I pick the ones that are winners.  I will post my plays for College and NFL in a bit and see what you think!!
 
But - I think I will have to do what you are suggesting.  I have actually hit a 4 team parlay in Vegas before and usually break even when I get home which isn't bad for a weekend in Vegas.  Drinks, food, strip club, blackjack and sportsbook and to come home even 5 times isn't bad!  I just want to WIN for a change!
