You take the odds after placing a pass line bet when the point is rolled (you place it behind the pass line bet). It is one of the few bets that has no house edge, normally craps tables have max 3x odds i.e 3x your pass line bet but there they have 100x odds. So you could bet $5 on the pass line and then $500 on the odds with no house edge on the $500.
