Hey everyone, new to the forum but I am a 21 year old student moving to Vegas to pursue my passion of gambling on hockey/baseball. I am very very very lucky in that I have the most amazing parents that already paid for my condo and my car so I only have to pay 300$ in total bills a month.
Just wanted to know if anyone here does sports betting as a primary source of income and have any tips for a kid like me diving head first into the industry. I like to think I am very good at betting mlb moneylines and so far into the season I am 13-2 in mlb moneyline games and finished at a 70% moneyline win rate for the nhl season. Over the years I've built the bankroll to around 20K, and was thinking about betting $1000 a day on moneylines. If anyone has any thoughts or opinions on me pursuing my passion in analyzing sports data/analytics and applying it through betting at the bookie let me know!

I read that the --1.5 lines can be bet in las vegas books this is an excellent way to bet the dogs for mlb. if what T read is right then if I moved to vegas this is what I would be doing. don't be afraid to check out my thread in strategy forum it's on fire.

Thanks for the responses guys... but I really do feel like I am in a unique situation in that my car and my house is already paid off so I have very little pressure to pay off bills at the end of the month. All I need to pay for is internet, food, phone, and gas.
oh and btw here is my pick for today : Miami ML

If this guy is as good as he claims, why the heck would he need any advice
My advice? Don't give up your day job
Im not claiming Im the best handicapper in the world, in fact Im not even close and I hope I don't come off that way. But what I sure am, is a profitable bettor and I just wanted to know if anyone else here was in the same boat as I

I'm on section eight so if I move to vegas it would have to be under section eight housing. hopefully there are section eight stuff near the strip. maybe in a few years saving my money and finding out if the --1.5 lines can be bet on baseball out there. does anyone know for sure. I read you have to ask for them.

Over the years I've built the bankroll to around 20K, and was thinking about betting $1000 a day on moneylines.
WRONG answer...if you do this and hit a losing streak you will have your bankroll wiped out in twenty bets...is that smart business?
I have lived here in Las Vegas for fourteen years and have seen people many times in this forum come here and think they can "Beat The Bookies". you can show long term profit by
1) REDUCING the amount of your daily wagers. Why be broke really fast? use 25% of your bankroll and which is 5 G's and then from that only bet $250.00 a day. You don't need to be swinging for the fences when base hits score runs as well.
2) The key is longevity is money management and "picking your spots" DON"T FORCE ACTION. if you don't like a game don't bet it. There are other days and games.
3) If and when you do get here, go silent on Covers. The last two guys that did this were not shown mercy here and you don't need the aggravation that will exist here from people trying to provoke you. FOCUS on your new hobby.
4) When at/going to the book don't listen to or ask the opinions of others or drink before you wager. It's YOUR MONEY your wagering so bet YOUR picks. Bet first then throw back a few.

Thanks so much Rookie, just the perfect response I was looking for, but referring to no 1 , i have gone through really bad streaks at times but never something past 3 losses, the chances of me losing 20 times in a row on a moneyline favorite is extremely unlikely. But idk, maybe ill look into betting around 500$ or so

Do you recommend any sports books in particular? The South Point is only a 5 min drive from my house and I was wondering if it's any good

It certainly appears that way, ans probably safe to assume so, until proven otherwise.
For starters, no one gives a flying f****k where you live. How that is relevant to being a pro is asinine. You certainly don't need to live in Vegas, that's for sure. The reasons have been discussed ad nauseam on here. So your entire spiel about your parents paying for this or that is useless.
Secondly, it really does sound like you've been gambling for a week on sports. "i have gone through really bad streaks at times but never something past 3 losses, the chances of me losing 20 times in a row on a moneyline favorite is extremely unlikely."
I don't even know what that statement means?
Honestly, if you really did have any acument for sports gambling for a living, you wouldn't even be asking such basic questions or not have any logical plan other than betting $1k a day on ML's. SMFH. LOL.
This sounds like a complete troll-job to me. If it's not, and you really want people to follow your "journey" I suggest you start posting your plays, along with prices and amounts. Telling us how good you WERE is useless, and definitely troll tactic 101. And if you want people to believe you, I suggest you do something to prove it, or they won't, plain and simple.
Good luck. Tell Nick hi!

LOL , I dont want anyone to "follow my journey" , crazy how my post asking for advice/info can be misconstrued as me showing off . Im not selling a product or service, Im simply asking if betting on sports is realistic for someone like me who only has 300$ in bills/month.
If you think this is a "troll job" seeking attention, then simply leave and dont entertain this post

Guess you were right Daddy Freddie, I already feel a sense of animosity from people here who quickly condemn me of trolling ... Hilarious

Oh, sorry. In that case, NO, it is NOT realistic. Not by a long shot.
I mean if you have to ask, you should probably know the answer already.
