Planning trip to Vegas

Hey guys - haven't been to Vegas in about a decade.  Planning a trip for a long weekend in September.

I have read through a lot of threads here - but just want to get some consolidated thoughts.  Going with my family - so my choice of where I stay will be important because I will likely be spending a lot of time around the hotel I am staying in.  So I need to be in a hotel that has a good SB.

Here is my wish list:

1.  A SB that takes soccer bets on major games like EPL. 
2.  A SB that takes bets like 10K or so on NFL or NCAAF.  Is this a problem?  I have no idea if limits are 100 bucks or 100k these days.
3.  A good watching environment would be nice.
4.  Have heard a lot about the M SB (Cantor) with ingame betting etc.  Reviews?
5.  Has to be a nice hotel.  Places like Wynn, Venetian, Palazzo, 4 Seasons, Mandarian, Aria etc....  I cant talk the family in to staying at Circus Circus even if they have the best SB.

Don't blame you re: Circus Circus.  It's a dump!  Also, and forgive me if you are already aware of this, Four Seasons, Mandarin and I believe Aria all have no sports book or casino...in Aria's case, the Cosmo is right there, though.  One place u may wish to consider is The M Resort, about 5 miles south of Mandalay near Southern Highlands/Henderson.  Classy, Cantor runs the sports book, perhaps the best buffet in Vegas... I actually didn't know that there is no SB at 4 seasons, Mandarian, and Aria.  That knocks those out.

Other than M Resort - any other recommendations?  What would you say are the best SB's in Vegas?

MGM, Venetian, Palazzo, Caesars?  How are the SB's there?  Any other stand-outs?

Caesars is good, BUT I usually steer clear of the strip...just too crowded.  If you are not in the sportsbook by 7 a.m. (maybe earlier) the first day of the tourney, do not count on finding a seat.  I usually head to Henderson and Green Valley Ranch.

BTW, Mirage was remodeling sportsbook when I was there in May, I'm interested to see the results. 

The M sportsbook is the one for you, , the accomodations are/were upper end also IMO (Strip view was nice at night, everything else is desert).   Your problem may be with the location and having family with you.   It's about a 15 minute ride on a highway to the Strip, and like it or not that is where most travelers want to hang out on vacation.   If that commute a couple of times a day isn't a problem.
I'm going to be staying there for a few days in about 3 weeks, but I will be alone and will probably only go up to the strip one or two times.

I would recommend either the Venation or Aria (It DOES have a sportsbook).  I go about twice a year and stay at either of those hotels.  The Venation sportsbook is nice, and every seat has a Cantor station.  The Aria Sportsbook is different then the other sportsbooks, a more lounge like layout, but a great place to watch games.  Both accept high wager amounts, and if you want to bet more then the limit, you just make two or more separate bets at the limit. 

Both hotels have great accomedations, with Aria being the newest (and most modern) place on the Strip.    I prefer Aria's rooms, but prefer The Venation's spa. 

Both of Soccer bets, but I think The Venation offers a little more (last time I was there they offered sides and totals on the games, Aria only offered sides). 

Don't like Bellagios, MGM, or Ceasers sportsbooks.  They are too close to the Casino so you breath in all the smoke. 

Heard good things about LVH and M, but haven't been there.  They are isolated from the strip and away from a lot of the "fun", so your family may not like being at those hotels.

So with these suggestions.....  I have it down to Venetian or M.  The family would rather be at Venetian - so the question is - I know they are both Cantor sportsbooks - but what would you guys say the differences are between the M SB and the Venetian SB?

The Venetian is also connected to The Pallazo, same ownership.  Below the Pallazo is Lagrass's Stadium which is a restaurant/sportsbook. You can get a table there and eat, while watching and betting on games.  More info here:  https://www.palazzo.com/Las-Vegas-Nightlife/Lounges/Lagasses-Stadium/

You are also across the street from The Mirage and Ceasers, so you are only a few minute walk between books if you want to spread out your bets, or shop for the best lines.

Never been to M, so can't give you good advice there.  But your family, especially if you have kids, won't like the fact they are isolated from everything else.

Van.....hope all is well, take it from a guy who spends 3-4 months a year in vegas. NO COMPETITION between M and Venetian.....M is nice but you are going to be 100% captive at the M it is WAY off the strip, those that have said 15 minutes it is 15 minutes to the MGM end of the strip closer to 30 minutes to get to Venetian / Ceasars. Based on what you have said 100% PALAZZO no competition. Best Sportsbook on Strip, amazing sports bars to watch games. Most importantly you are 5 minute walk to ANY of the other major books. Treasure Island Venetian proper Wynn Mirage they are all connected with skyways and very easy to get to. If your family is like mine you will be stir crazy at M and having that many options within 5-10 minutes of walking is only way to go. Also comes in very handy if you want to shop a couple sharp lines between 4-5 books.

I am booked at Palazzo.  Im going to do the Hilton Supercontest too!  It has always been a bucket list item for me - and this will be the year - I have already found my proxy and I think I am good to go.

Wow Van! You and I think a lot alike!

If I were to want to watch the game at the sportsbook I wagered at, it would be at Aria. Although it does bring some bad memories (Peyton Manning losing to the Jets and David Akers missing a FG for the Eagles) Still, it was a nice place. They also served FIJI water, it was a nice touch. Lounge atmosphere great for watching games.

And Lagrasse's stadium was an excellent place to watch the games. Big screens and it was like watching in your own living room. Definitely will be back!

And of course, don't limit yourself to just one sports book. Shopping around for that extra half point could be the difference.

Good plan Van.  The rooms at the Palazzo are just like the Venetian, except 10 years newer.  LVH is only a 5 min drive.

What's the Hilton Supercontest?

Google is your friend, but the LVH charges $1,500 to enter the season-long contest.  You pick 5 games against the spread every Sunday (using lines determined mid-week at the LVH).  Either you or your proxy then submits your picks.

I love LVH Superbook. Glad you're close by. I think you can take the monorail or whatever they call the above ground lite rail to the LVH.

if you want off strip....red rock resort is ur only answer.......bowling alley, movies, food court, buffett and a nice arary of fine dining, pool are all there for the family plus the book is great with vip viewing booths and high limit sections in the book............green valley is just as nice sister property but no bowling alley only differance..........

on the strip wynn, ventian, and aria does have a book don't know what there talking about...............

I would have suggested Aria.  Very classy.  Sportsbook isn't huge, but it's nice.  Excellent poker room. 

Haven't spent a lot of time at Venetian, but seems nice.  Make sure you get a good casino host ahead of time.  Tell them what you want.

The sportsbooks at the Venetian, M, Cosmo, Palms, Silverton and Tropicana are all Cantor Gaming and offer the same lines. You can set up an account and bet in person, especially if you are looking for in-game wagering and with the phone app you can bet anywhere in Nevada. I personally love the in-game baseball lines. You can also have a friend who lives in Nevada  place bets for you using your account but only you can withdraw. Have Fun!
