NoWorries21, neat story.
Max Demon,
I was on the crew at the Cal where the Hawaiian guy rolled for over three hours. This was on a Memorial Day weekend.
The guy gets the dice and rolls and rolls and rolls. The whole table was Hawaiians, which can really slow a game down. They tend to play kind of funny, Every come out they throw in "Aloha bets" - if I remember right it's a Horn and a High / Lo.
They also make "Hawaiian come bets" - they have to see that a number is on the dice and gets rolled, then they place it. Like I said, slows the game down.
We had at least 10 players on each end.
Now it gets brutal......the guy had been rolling for almost two hours at this point and graveyard comes in. We're thinking thank goodness, get us out of here. Nope. They put the graveyard crew on a dead game and leave us in there. We were exhausted already at that point.
Now they start calling the big bosses in from home. More fun (heat).
As the game goes on they had security buying chips from players with cash so they could pay other players. They bought $20K off of one guy and he saw the cash and said, "What's that?" They said, "It's yours, winnings." He said, "I don't play like that" and the shift boss said, "You did tonight" and they guy started shaking and almost fainted.
All in all the game lost $750,000. It should have been a lot more than that. When word got around town some of the old timers at Binions said the Cal should have called Good Morning America or some program but we guesses they didn't want that kind of publicity.
This happened on a Saturday night / Sunday morning.
Monday night we had people from Miami asking us which was the table the guy had the roll on.
I don't know if it's still there but for a long time there was a plaque on the wall of the crap pit with the guy's name and date.
Like I said, this was Memorial Day. By Labor Day the two guys that were the biggest winners that night had blown it back and were taking out markers.
The guy who rolled the dice was getting death threats when he got back to Hawaii. They'd heard about the roll, thought he'd won $1M AND THEY WANTED IT.

PS,
When Main Street first opened it was called the Park. Hilarious - guys were bringing gym bags and sweats to work and telling their wives they were going to 'the park' after work.
