MGM Properties take large bets.  I have made bets up to $50,000 there.

William Hill takes large bets.  I have made bets up to $40,000 there.

M(CG Technologies) takes medium bets.  I have made bets up to $5,000 there.  They turned me down for $10,000 and $25,000.

Wynn are chumps because they take very small bets.  They turned me down for $30,000 and offer to take $2,000.  They shouldn't have a sports book in such a nice casino, if they are not going to take serious action.

Hilton(baby) Superbook takes small bets.  They turned me down multiple times for $30,000 and $20,000.  Counted at $2,000.  Superbook is false advertising.  Superman wouldn't be some puny guy.  These guys shouldn't be able to use Super anywhere in their name and offer $2,000 limit on bets.

Golden Nugget takes very small bets.  They turned me down for $5,000 bets offer $500.  They should have their license for being a sports book revoked.  The Casino is very nice.  For gambling other than sports this is one of my favorite casinos.

Caesars Palace takes big bets.  I have bet $20,000 a game their before.  They have limited me a couple of time to $5k and 10k a bet.  Good place.  Make sure you get a players card.

I have bet at other books but don't have any other information to post on the other books.

I am posting this because of the lack of information online about making large sports bets in Las Vegas.  Everyone seems to assume the books will take unlimited bets and it isn't true.

I came back 30 minutes later and the writer introduced me as the gentleman that wanted to bet $10,000 on a game. I gave them the game number and amount. After giving them my license and a form stating the bet was my money and I wasn't someone's lackey, they took my money and punched it in. The writer looks at me and says it was rejected. The manager makes a call to the powers that be. She gets off the phone and tells me they won't take the bet. I ask why and she stated that they just said no bet. I told them that if it was a losing bet, in their mind, they would take it. I said it is obvious that they thought it was a winner. They would let me bet a lesser amount but I told them it is obvious you don't want action and left. I went back to the casino I usually make wagers and got the game at -3-. (FYI, it was a winner)

So, the moral of the story is, yes they will take any bet if they think its a loser. In other words, there is a limit but it a moving mark. If you are betting 4 figures, you're probably okay. If you are betting 5 figures then, I feel, it is a case by case situation. It also matters who you are. If you are a known winner, all bets are off. If you are a known loser, game on!

thats strange that tropicana didn't take your bet.  afterall, its a cg book and they are known for taking the largest bets out there.  there is something else going on there for some reason maybe they had too much risk on one side.

Bulllshiiit. Pay me like I played it,I played it with chips and they payed me with chips so I never had to give a false social security # and they still don't know your name.
Why bother with chips if in order to get your money since you just have to take the chips to the cashier and trade them for cash anyway? Wouldn't it be easier to just take the cash in the first place and save yourself a tour of the casino that you don't need, plus another line to stand in and another person to deal with?

What is the definition of a 'known winner' and a 'known loser' using actual numbers?

(FYI, it was a winner)So, the moral of the story is, yes they will take any bet if they think its a loser. In other words, there is a limit but it a moving mark. Yep, that is true.  Even these "Big 5" will only take 5k max on an NFL game.
Then which Vegas sportsbooks are Billy Walter's secret friends in when he tells them over the phone to put 'up to $250K' on one game and 'up to $150K' on another?

Why don't you list specifics that he's wrong about instead of just calling it all BS? That doesn't help forum readers when you attack without offering countering specifics.
thats strange that tropicana didn't take your bet.  afterall, its a cg book and they are known for taking the largest bets out there.  there is something else going on there for some reason maybe they had too much risk on one side.
Firstly I was an unknown player. They asked me several times if the money I was betting was mine or someone else’s stack. I guess they thought I was a mule.

You’re right, they might have been heavy on one side and rightly so. They were the only casino to have the line at -3. Why would I bet across the street at -3.5? They attracted action. It’s obviously they wanted action by keeping their line the lowest in town. It was just frustrating that I couldn’t bet the game. Live and learn!

The point I was making is the sportsbook track your action if you bet 5 figures. They know the winners and losers. If you incessantly beat up the books week in and week out, eventually they will back you off. If you come in and bet like a square and lose, they will take your bets day in and day out.

That is what I was trying to say.

Yes, I know Billy was able to get those bets down and I have no idea how he did it. If you are a known 6 figure bettor and set a precedent, then you will be able to bet those numbers. Again, that is my best guess.

That is why I was shocked being denied by the Tropicana. I read those articles on big hitters that wager 6 figure amounts. I thought my measly 5 figure bet would be taken without hesitation but I was completely mistaken, take back, aghast, kind of pissed!
