Have gone to Las Vegas every year for the last 10 for 2 weeks. Always stay at the Hotel at  Mandalay Bay. The book there is by far the best in my opinion, wide open, free drinks, comfortable seating, what more can u ask? MGM is poor, Aria is nice as well. Most of the big name hotels have pretty good sportsbooks. Just my opinion.

Funny, the Bally's Sportbook looks pretty nice if you ever get to it. It's located down the escalator and then you walk all the way down until you get to the end of the hall near the pool and food court. OMG it's so hard to get to. The Palazzo Sportbook is real nice but it's also hard to get to. The only two sportbook's I like are Palms and Rio, because I actually have won $ there.

I been to the Terrible's sport book a long time ago and they were still using a chalk board, that was terrible. I think it was still called Primm when I went to the sportbook to watch some golf on a Sunday afternoon, because the traffic was horrible on the 15south. The Buffalo Bill sportbook is actually pretty nice. I watch Lakers game 7 vs Celtics there. I remember making some bowl games bets at the Treasure Island and the lines were bad with high juice. Damn, sandwich place at Treasure Island I took a few bites and I was full. Whoever can finish a sandwich at that place is either fat or have a big appetite. $20 for a sandwich combo, I can say I tried it once but I wouldn't go back. Oh yea the sandwich shop was right next to the sportbook. I had a better time watching the games at the sportbook than eating at the sandwwich shop. Sorry for the rant.

Imperial Palace.  They still use an eraser and a chalkboard to update lines.  Either digital is too expensive, or they don't realize that it is 2013.

Wizard, its a markerboard not a chalkboard and it is called old school charm. It is things like this that has made Vegas awesome. A little something for everyone. If you dont get that you never will. Too bad. 1995 Vegas was a lot cooler then 2013 LA Club central Vegas is. But thats just my opionion.

I will take digital over old school charm any day.  Their TVs also appear to be from the 1990s, and have lines running up and down them with a fuzzy picture.  If that is the kind of old school charm you are recommending, I will pass.

However, I miss the old Vegas where blackjack tables were everywhere, dance clubs were virtually non-existent, and as long as you were gambling, the rooms and food were comped.

We are somewhat on the same page. I just normally place my bets at the book check the scores and move on. I'm not one to sit in the book and watch the games any way. Your last paragraph is spot on, those were the days.....and whats up with beer pong in Vegas....God help us.

I agree LVH book is amazing. I just hate the location. I love the action of the center strip.

LVH A little rundown ?yes. Long lines at times? Yes .but there is a reason for that

LVH has the best array of prop bets and the most lucrative odds on any sporting event in Las Vegas.

That is not a guess, nor a theory. It is a fact..

7-1 on L A Angels to win world series   5-1 just about everywhere else.

25-1 on Gonzaga to win National Championship.Between8-1 and 15-1  almost everywhere else.

Also much better odds on Daytona 500 and Masters..

The Nugget is a palace compared to across the street at Fremont. Placed bets at each this past weekend and Nugget was clean. Fremont had no NBA games on TV on Sunday afternoon. Celtics-Nuggets OT game WAS NOT ON any of their TV's.

Only good thing was I bet on 2 of the worst teams in the league and they both came in for me. Thanks Orlando and Charlotte.

I am going to second the Bally's book being a decent book.
When I go there it's usually not packed and I do have to go
to bar to get my own drinks.
In 2011 I was there so much they even gave me the preferred
sports book parking sticker- which is the marked parking right
    outside that side door.
Its not really "in the casino" its down escalators through shopping area
    near pool and monorail entrances.

I don't know of many locals who place their bets on the strip. You get much better action off strip.

    Seriously?
You must not be looking around when you are walking or dribbling about.
Every Sportsbook and I mean EVERY sportsbook is filled to capacity during football season.

You can not get a seat if you are not at the book atleast 1.5 hours before kickoff on a Saturday morning and noway you are getting a seat if you are not at the book 2 hours before kickoff on NFL Sunday morning.

During March Madness the books are full, the slow time for books is now, NBA and MLB
