UFC 114 consensus play

The consensus play for UFC 114 from our guys is Diego Sanchez

-210.

Here's why he will win:

He was a top 5 welterweight, his only losses being to Fitch (which was really close, and Diego had him trouble a couple times) and Koscheck, in a lackluster kickboxing affair. Both fighs were competitive. Fitch and Kos are #2 and 3 IMO, but you could argue Alves is #3.

Diego has a very underrated ground game. He took Marcelo Garcia, maybe the best PFP grappler in the world at the time, the distance in ADCC. This was all before he really started training seriously with Saulo Ribiero. He earned hs BB under Saulo. There is no question that Hathaway will be overmatched in the grappling department. On top or bottom, Diego has his number.

BUt Diego also has the takedown advantage. Hathaway has shown pretty good wrestling skills for a non-wrestler, but I don't think he will be able to stuff Diego.

Even if he does, I think Diego has better striking. Hathaway is versatile, well rounded type, but doesn't have any dominany skills. Diego has a dominant ground game and pace. Hathaway recently had a real back and forth battle with Story, which really could have gone to Story. Diego is just out of his league.

I like Diego also, typically, when he's been a big fav, he sticks to his gameplan and grinds out easy wins.  I see this happening again tommorrow

Diego should have some interesting fights in the future as he makes his return to WW, but I really wanted to see him fight KenFlo again at 155.

Sorry guys Hathaway was was too big and I underestimated him.I also lost on Rampage last night ,just a bad overall night for me and my guys.We will get it back I promise you .We'll work double hard on the next event so we can makeup for this .Our guys just had a bad night is all.

I apologize again to everyone that was on Sanchez and congrads to everyone that won last night. I'll be back for UFC 115 and promise a winner this time

Dont worry about it, anything can happen in MMA. We all lose, it happens. No one should get mad at anyone on here cause in the end, people should make their own decisions cause its their own money.  Ive tailed people on here if i dont know a fighter or if they have some insight i dont have but if the fighter loses i would never blame the covers poster.   I told everyone, everyone here at covers and all my friends at home that Kimbo would lose and that it was the bet of the year IMO, but if Kimbo would of won i would have hoped that people wouldnt of been mad at me. 

Even the 'right' bet can lose like lets say someone offered you 2 to 1 odds on betting Tails over Heads on a flip of the coin.  The Right bet would obviously be Tails cause the odds of it going tails is 50/50  but of course 50% of the time it will go heads so losing will happen but you made the right play.  haha.
