UFC 145

I will post my record in here after the Bellator 66 card is over.  It has been a long time since we have had a UFC PPV.  I cannot wait!!!

Here are the plays:

1.  Miguel Torres (-110) over Michael McDoanld.  Risking 11 units to win 10 units.

2.  Parlay of Jon Jones over Rashad Evans, Travis Browne over Chad Griggs and Mark Bocek over John Alessio.  Risking 5 units to win 5.4 units.

3.  Parlay of Rory MacDonald over Che Mills, Anthony Njokuani over John Makdessi and Maximo Blanco over Marcus Brimage.  Risking 4 units to win 5.4 units. 

What a joke John Makdessi is.  He bitched about Dennis Hallman coming in over weight in his last fight and now comes in 2 pounds over weight himself in this fight...

4.  Matt Brown (+225) over Stephen Thompson.  Risking 2 units to win 4.5 units.

5.  Ben Rothwell (+240) over Brendan "Glass Jaw" Schaub.  Risking 1 unit to win 2.4 units.

6.  Parlay of Chris Clements over Keith Wisniewski, Mac Danzing over Efrain Escudero and Mark Hominick over Eddie Yagin.  Risking 1 unit to win 1.7 units.

I only post my plays once I have locked in, so yes, these are all "locked n loaded"

There is a lot of hype on McDonald, but other than blowing out a a stiff in Alex Soto (who took the fight on short notice), McDonald has looked very mediocre against both Edwin Figuerora and Chris Cariaso (neither are UFC calibre IMO).  There are a lot of people who think Cariaso got robbed in that split decision victory that was awarded to McDonald. 

Torres is a huge step up in class, and the concensus is that a win by Torres will give him a title shot against the Cruz-Faber winner.  I don't see how McDonald can win this fight against a very motivated Torres, who has something to prove after the rape tweet incident.  Torres is the better striker IMO, and although McDonald might have the skills to put Torres on his back, we all know how dangerous Torres is from the bottom, so I am not sure that McDonald is going to want to play in Torres' guard.  Torres may not have the power to finish the fight standing, but I feel that he will outpoint McDonald on the feet in all three rounds and take a UD.

Rothwell looked to be in the best shape of his career!  I liked Rothwell to win this fight prior to even seeing him at the the weigh-ins, but am feeling even more confident now.  I might have to consider adding more to this play...

Browne is going to destroy Chad Griggs...

I like your 2 top parlays a lot. 

Not sure what to think about the Torres fight.  Big Torres fan, but he needs to fight better than he has been lately.  He is just so slow for a 135er. 

I loved Scahub for the fact that Rothwell is a gassing blob of a man with no athleticism at all.  But he looked best i've seen him at weigh ins.  I guess that is why it is wise to wait until weigh ins if you can.

i thought browne wouldve been one of your main plays even at -250.

i like him and rothwell.

I don't think Torres is slow at all.  However, he did look slow in comparison to Mighty Mouse, but he makes everyone look slow...

Rothwell did look amazing at the weigh-ins...

I think parlay Browne with Jones and Bocek is a safe bet.  I don't like laying such high juice in a single bet...

You are right, Faber and Cruz would have speed advantages over Torres.  But as you said, Torres is unique with his lanckiness and range over most of his opponents.

I am actually looking forward to this card, but you are right, on paper, this is not the strongest card of all time.
