For the series, I have these two pegged at a combined 9 runs between them (with NYY holding a small edge) ....BEFORE accounting for the SPs each will face and how that might impact their scoring...
Monday: the SPs were combined better than average so I felt the runs would total less than 9 runs......they combined for 2
Tuesday: the SPs were combined VERY GOOD! so I felt the runs would total less than 9 runs......they combined for 6
Wednesday: the SPs were combined only slightly better than average....but given the slump in run scoring on both teams, I still felt the runs would total less than 9......they combined for 2
Thursday: I will still assess those offenses capable of around 9 runs combined on a warm afternoon, but those bats will each face GOOD starters with GOOD pens to back them up. Three straight unders could mean they are due to go over 9 even if their offenses aren't indicative...Nevertheless, I'll play the odds here...
