So we have a game for Wed.S.Korea hour + after midnight, but now at 5:30 PM Pac.Time I have no teams listed still,so will look about 10:00 our time and see if any teams are listed,
Not sure I know enough about it to play but if lines or teams listed with a couple hours might be able to find out something, but it really does not matter IRONICally.
They put our County in the no Bars open yet, might be mid July,
But the news of the beaches on Memorial Day,real warm, people were on top of each other,no distance between anyone,Babes were out to in very little Swim Suits,

So who was the Baseball Player that said I guess not long ago with a 9 million buck contract,
I have to get mine?? Heard it on the radio in the car couple days ago but missed the name and team,so if the Owners come out with an 82 game season which the Players have to sign off on,I guess we will need a side letter for this guy that he will still get 9 mill.,
The way Owners and Players get along and the trust they have for each other I just do not see this being an easy thing to happen and Key mention the Salary Cap and Min.Wage in a normal season 400,000 or above I am sure, before free agency players hitting 280 made 6,000 a year,I made that making boxes in the 70s.Steel Mills paid the most, with incentives you could make 600-700 a week, checks were twice mine,we used to go to the bar after work to cash our checks and spend about 30 bucks get drunk and drive home.

futile to bet against the Dino’s right now

Oakland As Owner just took care of his income, after the draft he layed off the Scouts, they did their job now get out,and even better all his minor league players were getting 400 a week since they delayed the season,he might have done them a favor though that was not his plan I am sure, with fed increase Calif.is paying 1050 a week as 450 is from EDD and it being election year DJT kicked us out the 600 a week, not sure how baseball works as far as UI but a player in Minors without a contract must be allowed benefits during this deal esp.if he is an Oak.A player.
Total savings for Owner is about 1 mill.,he also has refused to give the City it's 1.2 mill.that he pays in rent for 82 games because in Calif.the landlord can not evict you so legally he owns a team worth about a Billion but can get away without paying rent, wonder if he qualifies for a small business loan, that should help him out a lot.The good news for him is that now if nothing changes he will show a profit this year.

Like when Pritzker removed all the toilets from the mansion he was buying? That deemed the estate "uninhabitable" which knocked down the price by a couple hundred grand.

JEG, in post 922 you mention "Salary Cap" along with minimum wage, which is $400K or thereabouts for rookies. MLBPA is the one, and only, union that has stood its ground on salary cap. There is no salary cap in MLB. The owners attempt to regulate themselves with the luxury tax, which applies if their total payroll is over an agreed amount. But that does not limit what they can pay in total if they are willing. With the luxury tax feature teams with huge TV contracts like the Dodgers and Yankees can easily afford the luxury tax and still build very good and very expensive teams, but it does not limit what the teams can pay or the players can make. That is what some of the nasty negotiations are all about. The owners want some sort of cap on what they have to pay, and the players do not believe them when they say "only for this year." In the next negotiations the owners will be back with something resembling a cap and try to stick with it. The players know that and are not falling for it. There is probably a percentage everyone can agree on for this year, percent per player contract, 30, 40,? heck I don't know; but anything that smells of a cap is going to be roundly rejected, on principle. If the union (players) agree to 30, 35, 40% that guy with the 9M contract will get his percent and that's that. He can not hold out for what he wants or his full contract amount. That is the only form of "CAP" the players will agree to, and I agree with them, because if they ever agree to some or any form of an overall cap it will plague them forever. NFL, NBA, and NHL unions agreed to some form of team cap and they all regret it. It is a regressives way of re-installing the "reserve clause", just in a slightly different manor. I know we need baseball, so do the players, and playing the "patriotism card" is a BS way to sneak in something that will never go away. The owners can work this out fairly if they choose to, but if they want to stand on a maximum payroll expense formula, that ain't gonna work.

Your not saying a guy worth Billions would go to all that work to save a paltry 200 thousand, and I have no problem knowing it is true.

KEY you are correct, terms should be Luxury Tax and Min.Salary,
my point was more to the issue that Union's just set the min.wage, companies or owner's can pay any amount over the union starting wage,I argue with people all the time about Union Scale,I always hear yo yos saying the company has to pay what the union negotiates, which is not true, they have to pay at least that amount,
My post was more to ridicule the pitcher for using the need of us for baseball to get his,and the players have already agreed to give up half the money in a 82 game season and are really not looking for any more cuts, they also will not agree to splitting the profits because if there is another shut down they could end up with nothing,if they have a 9 million deal and they play 82 games they will want 4.5 mill.,done deal.So are they going to screw the guys making min.wage and cut that in half,I would argue that you still can not go below that #.
NBA guys do not seem to be hurt by their Cap,only Hockey and Football of course have a strict cap that affects how much they make,O and the WNBA also,

JEG: If the guy making 9M has to play for 40% of that, $3.6M, that s not such a bad deal and the final expenses are not known, or what will be the final revenue, so there is still a great deal of risk for the owners. Now maybe you pay the rookie level 60%; can you honestly say that a rookie with a shot at the majors could not, or would not, play for $240,000? Of course he would. It is the opportunity of a lifetime and he would not exactly qualify for poverty status. You could even declare this will not count as his rookie season as far as the ROY honor goes, but it will count as a year in helping him reach arbitration level. Nothing could be fairer than that. This thing is workable, but it is going to take some compromise, and just in all negotiations NOBODY gets everything he wants. PLAY BALL!

Good job BDC.
My brain is on empty today. My body feels like it got hit by a freight train. Work has been rough, it amazes me how much people drink.

1. My brain is on empty today. Normal state of affairs
2. My body feels like it got hit by a freight train. No problem for us
3. Work has been rough, probably a lie, his helper does the heavy stuff
4. it amazes me how much people drink. Really? Considering your own consumption...........................

Friday KBO guess
according to projected starters Hanwha's first 5 batters are left handed and 6 of their 9 batters vs a Lefty in Kim needing a win at home. Both these teams are absolute garbage but at this line its hard not to back the home team with the better offense. I would assume any manager would tweak that lineup a bit but as it stands right now he has not. Ill bite
SK Wyverns ML -110

Yeh I have heard the new offer was going to be the 10% to 20% more,I do believe they will want the 50% cut for 1/2 season, and then a rate of 30% of contract,I had mention that I think the players want 50% of contract based on games played and could defer the 10 or 20 more owners want,IMO the players think they have given enough and lets be serious here these guys do not trust each other and both hate giving in to the other,
And we know the players want the owner to assume all risk, like the guy said,I WANT TO GET MINE.
