Be advised, anyone looking at that Reds/Mariners game later; it is very cold and cloudy in Maricovid County today and could be breezy as well. The starters may nor stretch out their innings and the managers are very likely to agree on a 7 inning game. Take that into considration.

The current temp in Peoria with wind chill is 49 degrees with a 10 mph breeze out of the southwest, and it ain't gonna get better

7 games with the White Sox last year, 34 innings:
.197 BA allowed
.597 OPS allowed
Exit velo 87.2(88 league avg)
Hard Hit % 32.6(37.8 league avg)
Line Drive % 26.1(28.3 league avg)
Ground Ball % 44.6(42.8 league avg)
The dude throws 5 pitches(with control). Look at the tail on his 2 seamer from the vids. That fucker is ends up 8+ inches away from where it starts.
And the White Sox traded him for Lance Lynn, who throws only fastballs. Albeit he's got 3 kinds, and will throw a curveball maybe 3 times a game...I think they should of thought about the future along with the "win now" mentality in mind.
No one is talking about the White Sox subtractions, I mean no one. While I do think that they made plenty of good moves to "win now", and they are definitely showing that, that's the path, there's some things to consider.

What did Ricky Renteria do wrong? I say nothing. Well, not much. Before all these prospects came up who hit the crap out of the baseball last year, he called too many bunts(according to the geeks and such). Questionable this, questionable that, but what managers aren't ever scrutinized? Renteria had an amazing rapport with the Hispanic players on this team, and they are at least 50% Hispanic. He spoke the language, all his players liked him.
They replaced him with a super old looking La Russa. Not sure what to expect really.

The departure of James McCann. He was Giolito's catcher. He was preferred by all the pitchers actually. His defense was great, he called a good game. The only thing that Grandal did better was framing, which McCann got better at late in the season. Man, chemistry like this(or lack there of now) is over looked in baseball often. To compound the problem at the position, Grandal has a knee injury this spring and no one really knows the severity. I was telling my Sox buddies that the White Sox should of kept McCann, kept Grandal to DH and catch every 5th day, if they really wanted to "win now".
#3
Dunning for Lynn. It wouldn't be surprising to me if by the end of the year Dunning and Lynn's stats weren't relatively even. Lynn can eat innings so they'd get that out of him, as Dunning will probably get the coddled treatment as he comes up. But if the stats are close, it's a lateral move for THIS season imo. And Lynn is getting older, but Dunning has plenty of years left to come.
#4
Why let Alex Colome go? Fans are raving about picking up Liam Hendriks. It's a lateral move, they are nearly the same. Closer for closer. My Sox buddys say that they didn't like that Colome didn't strike guys out much, that he looked like he could blow a game at any moment. So what? He got ground balls, he induced soft contact all the time. Outs are outs, who cares how you get them. If the Sox really wanted to "win now", keep Colome and sign Hendriks. Along with Aaron Bummer, that would of been one of the deadliest back ends of a bullpen since Betances, Miller and Chapman.

They look like shit this spring training, and they don't care. Arrogance doesn't sit well with me, especially when this team hasn't won anything yet.
Their offense should be great again I would think. Tim Anderson is REALLY special. Just watch that dude play it's great. Giolito and Keuchel are an awesome 1-2 punch. Lynn is a solid 3. 4 and 5 will be question marks as of now. If Dylan Cease learns how to throw in the upper half of the strikezone, he could be electric. His stuff is that good.

You're looking good so far, 3-0 Reds top of the fifth. I didn't get it myself; we had guests for dinner, boo-hoo

I got CIN, down by a run, 4-3, 8th inning, bases juiced and wouldn't you know it, the 25 pitch rule, inning over.
Of course you under bettors don't say a word.
Are we really betting on this?
Whiner alert.

During S.T. I suggest sac and barney host a whine party at 6 or 7 P.M., EST, every night. When more evening games happen after the start of the regular season we will have to adjust the hour, but for now that should do it. Compress the event, get it out of the way, and move on.

@barneybeans
MLB network replayed the game last night. I tried getting to your point of misery but fell asleep.
Good news though, that pitcher who reached his pitch limit preserved his arm for years to come.

Comment: There is literally nothing in the East I like, other than maybe a wild flyer on the Pirates, and here in Maricovid County I will play only two, with reservations. It is going to be cool and cloudy again today, with a chance of rain. 62 for a high and 89% chance of rain. CAUTION.

Really feel for you with this bunch sac. Disappointing in drive, achievement and clubhouse rapport. At some point folks have to stop looking at the potential and accept the reality. Contrary to popular belief teams cannot turn it on at will. Heads may roll over this if it carries over to the regular season and LaRussa's could be the first.
