I really need the MLB to have a spring training, otherwise, how will I fund my bets during the regular season?
Best story of the off season is Tony Larusa's dui in Arizona(hangin out with Key) one day before he got hired. Hell yea why not throw down a couple of soda's? The man is 76, just scored a good gig. He blew a .09, whoop d do. His tire blew out, so that's the only reason he got pinched.
The snowflake generation is writhing. But I commend him. He is an IRON man, and he's back to spit chew on the analytic geeks laptops.
My old man(god rest his soul), had a rough stint with the bottle years ago. He got pulled over. When asked to step out of the car, the officer said "Good God, you can barely walk" Pops replied, "That's why I was driving"
*disclaimer, I don't condone drunk driving*
So the state of Florida is in an interesting light. Tampa's Kevin Cash completely screwed up game 6 by pulling Snell and inevitably lost the WS on that one decision. I don't care what anyone says, that was egregious. Since, some pundits have said that Snell in his 2 WS starts had Sandy Koufax type stuff. Analytics got the Rays super far, and on a pay roll less than Mookie Bett's contract alone. But to see that pitching change in that moment was astonishing.
The Marlins have signed the first female gm. I don't know if she's analytical or not(I assume yes). I have no problem with it. Congratulations to her, she is a pioneer.
Shane Bieber and Trevor Bauer won the Cy Young. Strike city.

Rumors of the Rays possibly trading Kevin Kiermaier and Blake Snell to dump salary. Unbelievable.
Looks like Marcel Ozuna will be a highly coveted FA. He was awesome last year.
Yadier Molina is 38 years old and has been with the Cardinals for 17 years. He's a FA and could end up on a different team. It would be hard to picture him in a different uni.
The Blue Jays said that they are going to be aggressive again in free agency. Making Canada great again.
Trevor Bauer fresh off a Cy Young award will be a pricey arm. He'd be leaving a darn good pitching coach in Cinci if he decides to leave.

"The Blue Jays said that they are going to be aggressive again in free agency. Making Canada great again." So now it is MCGA? Hard to pronounce.
My old man got pulled over once and the cop said "Sir, are you sure you should be driving?" The old man said "Officer, I have to, I can't possibly walk."
True story. And I don't condone drunk driving either. We are talking about the 1950's, when DUI was common and acceptable.
Throw another log in the wood stove and get this sh*t going!
BTW: Tony LaRussa's DUI was in April or May; noone yet has figured out why it took until November to charge him. Chicanery in the Maricopa County Swamp no doubt. He has probably already attended "rehab" so they can sweep it under the rug and clear the way for him to move to Chicago. Good news though is that Joe Arpaio's reelection bid fell short so we won't have him overlooking guys like LaRussa and chasing down Mexican's with a broken tail light.
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

That is known as "back channel" sac, but, LC it is not hard to bring a quote forward and leave the other thread to die. You just hit quote in the old thread, copy everything, including the quote code, jump to the new thread and paste it. Ta-Da.

Sac, Key’s pretty internet savvy for an old guy. He’s copying, pasting,...I’m impressed, I think.

The gray matter this guy wants us to buy as brains is actually the ash from his burnt up brain. Now, can we please move on and leave the "Yankees Are Loaded" BS for spring?
And after 6 months of not even being charged LaRussa skates away. I wonder how many of our local citizens get a deal like that? Campaign contributions and who you b__w work the same way everywhere.
The HoF ballot is out. Let's all pick ONE guy we think is most deserving and post it. With a little good sense we probably pick all the winners right here.

I called it last year, but thought he would stay one more year. Theo Epstein steps down as GM for the Cubs. Leaving another organization in terrible condition.

Clevinger needs Tommy John, so the Padres resign him. Move of the year
Yeah, his upside is worth the risk, even if you lose a year to rehab. In a sense, every player you sign carries risk.
Theo makes little to no difference. Just get yourself another Epstein, Cashman or Dombrowski and give him a huge budget to work with.
BABYFACE024: They have 80 years to work with and still overcome their previous streak
tuck321: I don't know if the state of the city makes any difference. The Yankees can not win low scoring games versus quality starters and bullpens. 7,8,9, runs per game doesn't matter; the winning run versus a good starter and bullpen is what matters. The "bomb everybody" philosophy does not work in world championship competition.
The best example may be the Run Differential System. If you lose 5 games 2-1, and win 5 games 10-1, you are still 5-5, but your backers blew a ton of juice backing all the excess runs, +40 RDS, 5-5 in the W/L column. No matter how much they handicap the pitchers in order to play home run derby, they still make the difference in the end. JMHO.

Barney, they have a payroll cap and it isn't working because high income teams just buy the talent and pay the penalty. Players will NEVER accept an individual player cap and I don't blame them (reeks of slavery, or the reserve clause). The only real solution is revenue sharing.
