I tried doing the "Euro Step" once but some of the French guys started to give me a funny wink and smile. Did not pursue that any further.

I think I will stick to the good old country two step and Polka at Mexican birthday parties. Did you know Mexicans love the Polka? Trust me. Among other things I have won was the disco trophy at my daughter's Father-Daughter Prom when she was 17.
Come and trip it as you go,
on the light, fantastic toe.

Back to the regular program: the Braves have signed Morton to a one-year, $15 million deal.
All the pitchers that have signed til now took 1 year deals, of course Morton has an age and 1 is a cautious approach, but given our current circumstances it seems the teams aren't that eager to splash money around.
And it seems the Rays about the rumours may hold some truth, from mlb.com:
A source noted that Tampa Bay is not actively shopping Snell, who has three years and $39 million remaining on his five-year, $50 million extension, but given the financial losses the Rays endured during the pandemic-impacted 2020 season, trading the 27-year-old represents the club’s best chance to create some much-needed flexibility.
Snell will earn $10.5 million in 2021, $12.5 million in 2022, and $16 million in 2023.

We won't see any enormous or long term contracts until the pandemic is far enough controlled for MLB to be able to see long-term scheduling as a reality. All the news about vaccines and therapeutics is great, but has not changed anything yet. These owners need real results to deal with future projections. Proof and public cooperation MAY give us a full 2021 season, but it may also turn out to be a pipe dream.

Already looks like you can divide the hot stove season into three categories. Top eight are buying the stars, bottom eight are trading stars for prospects, and the fourteen in the middle are looking for a couple guys that can give them hope for an 80 win season. With a little luck a couple of those fourteen lands a wild card spot.
Ancient Chinese proverb: It is hard to soar like an eagle, when you are surrounded by turkeys
Trivia question; name the twenty five best players in MLB unlikely to win a championship in 2021
Answer; the Yankees opening day roster
Happy Thanksgiving guys

Regarding the Yankees, saw an interview with Michael Kay, who said he spoke with Hal Steinbrenner, on his radio show, where he told him that the NY Yankees sustained the biggest losses, financially wise, from all the MLB teams, this season. This probably explains why the Yankees haven't yet signed DJ or Tanaka, they did offer DJ a qualifying offer, which he declined. Kay also said that Sanchez may be shopped around, for a trade, which kinda makes sense, we will know by the 2nd of December if that will happen or not.
It seems DJ is asking for a 5 years contract?! I dunno what team would take that risk, he is 32 though, Yankees would be comfortable with 3 years. The rotation is the Yankees biggest problem though, Tanaka, Happ and Paxton all finished their contracts with the team. Happ they wont consider, for obvious reasons, Paxton unlikely because of his health struggles, which leaves Tanaka as the most likely guy to come back, although maybe just on 1 year deal, given the circumstances and Tanaka's elbow.
With this line of reasoning, I'm officially disputing your claim Key and nominate the Dodgers, as the answer to your trivia question, at least for next season.

If I'm calling the shots for the NYY I sign him. JMHO.
Oh and did anyone clear it with Key that it was OK to talk about the Yankees?

What the Yankees need at catcher is a guy who can play D, frame, call a game, and hold runners. You can say that for any team really. As much as offense is coveted today, it should be lower on the priority list when it comes to catchers.
Any skill with the bat is a bonus.
Trying to turn good hitters into the next Johnny Bench has never worked.

The deadline to sign Sanchez is December 2nd, Kay said if they sign him it will be for ~ 6.5 mil $, that's a bit steep, for what Sanchez has shown, in the past 2 seasons. I don't know if it's worth signing him, Yankees always knew his power made up for his poor defensive skills, but Sanchez led the league in 2019 in passed balls, even though he was out time with injuries, also a lot of wild pitches with him behind the plate, his offensive numbers were down form 2018, but he made up with a lot of HRs. In this shorten season he was absolutely dreadful, a free swinging striking out machine, I dunno if you can fix that.
I only bring up the Yankees because I'm a fan, so I'm a little more familiar with them. I dunno why I'm a Yankees fan, but since I've discovered and started following baseball, the Yankees are the team I've been rooting for...

A lot of those passed balls were being crossed up with his pitcher. He's a knucklehead. I don't think signing a guy who needs to work out so many aspects of his game for that much $ is a good idea.
But who knows, that HR thing is sexy...

I wholeheartedly agree sac, because this season they changed his stance and he didn't improve much, so it's definitely on him, his defence is crap. As a testament of how bad he was, they ended up choosing Higgy over him, to catch Cole and that made a difference, Cole was better with Higgy behind the plate.
I hope they don't sign him, the fact they didn't use him in game 5 against the Rays gives me hope they wont. Whatever issues he has, imo the Yankees gave him enough time to work through them and even if everything else didn't pay off, Cash has shown an ability, in the last years, of making some great trades, value wise, especially with the likes of Voit or Urshela.
