i think STL will come back, hedging has been kicking asses today, i think you should have let it ride.

to be honest, I dont think they will come back though. I a regreating not puting 2 units down on that hedge.

Too many injuries, and astros have been consistantly hitting the ball. Oh and STL keeps makin dumb mistakes

i post em all the time in threads, its this preposterous way u keep track of your record.  your not 57-24, its just a fact.  and u did start with units the last couple days but then u stop posting units and you hedge out bets makin the game a 1-1. its kinda funny, i just dont think u should b posting a record that isnt right.  im 1-3 posted plays today, thats my real record today

dude ALL my plays are 1 unit unless I say different. The units will be included in my tally tonight. and yes it will be negative again, just like last night.

Also, if you dont like the way I do thing just dont open my thread.

This is my thread, my record keeping, i can do it any way I want to. Now, if someone suggests something that I think makes sense, I will change it.

One question though, How EXACTLY, would you like me to keep my records. I am new to keeping MLB records. It is totally different from NBA/NFL. No one except you has had a problem BUT I dont mind changing if it makes sense. I dont have anything to hide.

as of now.. I post the play with the odds. I dont always include the odds in the updated card because I dont always have them in front of me. However, they are included in the post at least once. All plays are 1 unit unless I say otherwise. I tally them up at the end of the night.

What else would you like to see happen?

i'll b interested to see tonights math and u should put with ur "record" a running total of units.  thats really all thats matters, units won or lost but posting a 70% win rate and not translating that to +/- units is very deceiving.  i realize i could just not open the thread but keepin people honest about records around here is essential imo.

I dont want to fight with you man. I really dont. I would love it if we could just be civil.

Since this is my first year posting MLB plays, I have always been used to just posting my win loss record. My win loss record that I post here is accurate.

I understand why posting units is essential now. Thats why I stared doing it. I could go back through all of my plays and post an over all unit record. Would that be good? I dont want to come off as deceiving man. This is an on going process for me and I will make corrections as I go. Maybe I will make it clear at the begining of my next post tht I only started posting my unit break down a few days ago and give a summary of whatt has happened since then.

I appreciate your opinion on this. I want to keep this as by the book as possible and will make changes.

The only request I have you is if you could constructive rather than bashing. I have always been open to making any changes people think I should make. I am trying to learn this all myself and will make errors along the way.

If you see something that could be done better, just help me by explaining how to do it better. You dont have to just point out my errors and treat me as if I am dumb or doing something purposly deceiving, you know?

You seem like an honest guy and just trying to learn the ropes and fit in with the posting do's and don'ts.

Definitely for baseball, unlike football and basketball, the units are most important, not the W-L record. You could start a new record from today or go back to the All-Star break and figure out your units.

As for Live! betting, that's tricky. A lot of folks see your original pick. If they happen to tail it and come back at the end of the night or the next day and see that you hedged out of a loss with a Live! bet, they will be a little sore. Fair enough that you did it and hopefully you post it as soon as you do, but most won't see it. I would suggest you tally up your record like some do - like this:

Dogs   23-21     +6.855
Favs   20-14     +6.446
RLs    0-2          -2.10
1st 5   8-7          +0.80
Over   9-12-1    -3.65
Under  16-19-1  -5.01
TTs     1-5-1      -4.75
Live!    5-5        -1.00
TOTAL 82-85-3  -4.57

Something like that. Then, at the end of the night, post that your initial card went 4-6 and lost 3.6 units, but you were fortunate to hedge out of one or two with a Live! wager that decreased your loss to just -1.00.

Not too many posters do the Live! betting with their posted picks, so it hasn't really been much of an issue before.

Wow, thank you for that excelent explination. You know... i think i will do that. I will go through all of my plays since I started posting and lay it out like that. I wont have time tonight since it is a lot of work but. I think that would help a lot.

closer man, just keep it up. i know you spent enough time on all of this to deal with bashers.
we're all here to support each other and beat the books, i dont understand how the focus can change so much at times, that we take out losses out on each other.
keep on doing what you're doing, and best of luck with friday's card.
lucky for me my jays and over hit otherwise i'd be cheesed with the way thursday went, but thats what we signed up for: up and downs.

im familiar with your live bets from nba, and i think people should do that more often in baseball. after all, why not cut your losses if possible.

its funny how 90 percent of the people who talk shit on somebody who has a bad day are ones who dont really post their own plays and just ride the train then throw all of their money on one game that the person they follow really likes and expect him never to lose.,, everyone loses games, the ones that put the effort into capping their own games and use wise MONEY MANAGMET come out on top....
