Helly is nothing special but think Dbacks outslug the Nats here to win the rubber match. Over is also an option but like the Dbacks even better

Gio only faced Db acks two times in last 3 years and was very good. 13 IP 13 hits 2 ER 4 walks 10 so but also .271 avg
Only 3 Nats hitters have EVER seen hellickson:. escobar (.294), mclouth (.304), and span (.202). This I like. Hellickson is really a high 3 ERA guy and is due for definite correction to that number.
If he never faced the padres twice this year his numbers would look much much bettermaybe a nemesis?
Also looking at A's in two for apossible parlay with Dbacks
Any other useful thoughts?

he also is horrible on the road with nearly a 5 ERA even with the gem against the Mets who cant hit a wet paper bag right now. Hard to envision Gio pitching a gem in this game.....his line will be near 4 runs in 7 IP type game IMO.
Should probably wait to see if line moves up though as everyone will think just like you and should drive the line up

don't see it. Gray near untouchable at home this year and only 6 red sox batters have seen him and hold a .126 avg against. Whats your angle here. Gut and experience says both home teams win the early game
but as you saw with padres/yanks today I have been wrong many times before

Both favorites ? Ovber last 7 days sox are 29th in hitting and A's are 26th. The hitting today was somewhat of an outlier and Masterson was just flat out terrible. That;s what scares me about A;s is the closeness they are both hittin at right now. I actually think the under may be a stronger play as Miley could keep A's bats somewhat quiet

That's who Im seeing too. Anything more you can tell us about a reason why?
As far as hitting goes ...
Nationals and Diamondbacks are neck and neck over past 7 days in avg at .326 and .295 with only 6 runs separating the two
Arizona batting .263 against left handing pitching (Gio obvsiouly) good for 10th in the majors
Nationals batting .256 off right hand hitting (Hellickson) good for 13th in the majors
