Blue jays one of the best offences in the league and has most home runs. They scored 846 runs...3rd best in the league. Tampa has 856 and Houston has 863. Blue Jays gave up 663 runs. Yankees on the other hand scored 711 runs and scored 669 runs. If blue jays had made it, they had a good chance to be dark horse world series. Sucks for jays and the youngsters in the team. Both yanks and redsox won in the 9th inning today.

Shut up you whiny fan boy. You had a whole season to earn a better record, and guess what, you didn't. I hate the Yankees as much as most do, but they earned their way in.

True dat, bud. Lotta guys on here think their teams should be in the playoffs, and maybe they should expand to 3 WC teams next year; see how it shakes out. NHL has been a disaster for pre-playoffs excitement and hot stove because their commish is a follower, not a strategic thinker (LMAO that I would even use the word strategic and G Bettman in the same sentence). 24 outta 32 teams made the playoffs last year (participation trophy stuff), but the cream rose to the top, as it should. But is that how you want to present, and represent, your professional league? Back to 16 teams this season says something about self-evaluation at least (even though 50% will make the post-season). MLB has 12 teams outta 30 in the post-season. Go to 14...16...over 50%?
White Sox were the only team in their division over .500 this season (.574), yet the AL East had 4 teams with more than 90 wins. These 4 teams had to face each other 19 times, and the Yankees took 6 outta 9 in the last 10 days of the season @ BOS, @ TOR, and vs. 100-win TB. But the NYY don't deserve to be there? Yeeeeaaah...no; don't think I'm down with that. Anything can happen in a 1-game playoff, of course; not saying who's gonna get the W (how could I?), but like Bill Parcells used to say when he was asked about the NYG's status, etc...."we are what our record says we are". So like you said Cover34...teams need to look in the mirror if they didn't make the post-season.
Yankees tied with Atlanta with 5th most AWAY wins in MLB this season.
Yankees tied with Seattle with 10th most HOME wins in MLB this season.
Yankees had 6th best team ERA and 6th best Whip this season.
Cheers 34
PS - The Blue Jays didn't "trick off a lot", as Welder accuses the NYY of doing...but they still missed the post-season? We have a thriving "conspiracy scam" contingent in the NFL Forum if anybody wants to go there.

Jays would have made for a better more exciting run. More exciting baseball. Had to play in 3 different stadiums…..could argue they may have won more games at the dome. But it is what it is. They lost in 2/3 to Yankees. Took themselves out of the driver seat. They deserve the position they’re in
