Anyone seen Brett Cecil's career stats, 24-15, last year 15-7. He is actually pretty good, remember, he IS on the Blue Jays, and they SUCK. Does he? Don't think so.

Two interesting things about this game. 

First, I knew Texas was dead when the mgr at the casino I was at said before the game they would have to close the sportsbook if Texas run line won.  Not that they would do that but it tells you how much money they had on Texas & all the live parlays was astronomical.

Also, the ump behind the plate has called 22 games.  The home team has only won 6 and lost 16.  Very odd.

I think Texas avgs 7 runs a game at home vs lefties...and that includes good lefties.   No way Cecil shuts them down for his first career shutout.

i like this stat.  wish i would have seen this game on tv i guess so i could have seen if these guys actually did try.

Not a good pitcher.  ERA was around 5.0 going into tonight (scoring is down this year too) & he allows a HR every start.

Watched the whole game Cecil has been having velocity problems this year and he went over some mechanical changes since his last start against Seattle and he had his velocity up to 93 this game and he kept the Rangers guessing all game, was mixing speeds and was ahead of batters all game.  Nothing fishy about the game at all.  The BlueJays have had Texas's # over the last 3 years or so...  Great game by the Jays and Squints (Cecil) is not a bad pitcher.  He was our best starter statistically all year last year.

You people that automatically jump to the "fix" talk just because something doesnt go your way are fucking hilarious.  

I suggest you dont bet anymore

Thanks for the info on the game. If he has corrected some issues that is great know going forward.  FYI -  I never said it was "fixed" as I didn't watch it.  Just a couple interesting things I noticed.

Cecil may pitch lights out the rest of the year but you can't be serious saying he has been good up to now this year...a HR allowed every 6 innings, etc..  He did well much of last year but his rookie season was garbage...very misleading record.

Not sure why you suggested not betting anymore.  I didn't even mention betting.  However, I do just fine.  The reason I was on here is because it was the only game not available on TV at the casino today.

They are a .500 team playing in by far the best division in baseball.

Take this team and put them in many other divisions and they would look a hell of alot better

Yeah, talk about tough luck.  I really feel for both Tampa & Jay fans.  Baltimore too I guess.  I'm probably in the minority but I never liked the split into 3 divisions.  That's what you end up getting.  Kind of like the NFC West in the NFL where you can get a 7-9 team into the playoffs.

Interesting, eh?

Jays would be 4 games out of 1st if they were in the AL central and 2.5 games out if they were in the NL central...not to mention they wouldn't be playing Boston and New York a billion times per season.

Guess the Mets, Marlins and Nats can say the same thing about their division...this season at least.
