Bator, any thoughts on a SF/STL 1st 5 RL parlay? Pays just over 1:1 and I can't see any reason not to love it.

While the Marlins were lulled to sleep in Washington this week as they looked ahead to this Philly series, likewise the Phils may be napping tonight now that they're opinion of the Marlins is at a low point.  The Phillies just observed the Marlins screwing around with the lowly Nats, watching them ultimately get beaten badly due to a lot of poor pitching.  On top of that, the Phillies surely remember with satisfying detail the manner in which they shut down this Florida team less than a month ago coming out of the All-Star break.  The Phillies shut them out twice, 4-0 and 5-0, and also beat them in an extra inning heartbreaker, 6-5. 

So which team do you think is more pumped up for this showdown?  The Phillies, who beat the Marlins badly in Florida and lost even more respect for them this week, or the Marlins, who are obviously embarrased about their performance against the Nationals and probably pretty pissed about the 3-game sweep the Phils laid on 'em in Miami?

 

Answer:  Florida

 

I'll be taking the +130something and probably splitting my bet with the alternate runline somewhere over +200.

Hahahaha, thanks man, already put it in as a play for a decent amount and started to have buyers remorse so while i was lurking figured I'd ask your opinion

talked to my friend and way way to early but smart money he said is on col, fish, indians,atl,tex and seattle. some boston and under boston and some kc.

I probably won't be able to post exact amounts until after the games start because placing the bets is how I spend my final minutes before they start, but if you want to know, the Marlins and the Yankees are my two largest plays tonight.  Washington is now also a definite, but that'll be less than half the size of the other two.  Cleveland ML & RL is also for sure, although likely suicide with Jeremy Sowers.  I'll take the chance.
 
I added 5 units on Pittsburgh +1.5 +135 as well.

Wanted to add a bit more of why to stay away from Cleveland, since I just got back from work...

While the Indians have hit decently against Buehrle this year, in general I'd stay away from Clevelands run support against great pitchers. That's why Cliff Lee couldn't get as many wins as he should've, even with the lowly Indians this year. He was usually matched up against a proven quality pitcher, and for the most part the young bats on the tribe seem to lose confidence and seem to struggle more than they should against these ace pitchers..

Now after the deadline, Cleveland's bats are even more inexperienced and need to depend on rallys of confidence against medicore or bad pitching. Then they can score 8 or so runs easily..

Now, if you are banking on Sowers to match up well with Buehrle......well.... best of luck... To me, the line is where it should be in this case. Maybe I'm not as high on Sowers right now as you are and, maybe I'm just acting like a bitter Indians fan and not know it....

I decided to lay off on this game from the get go last night, so I didn't really take too much time to evaluate this game so take what I say with a grain of salt. I just figure since they are my hometown team I should chime in..
