Truth be told- I have won and lost both ways. No more. No less. 
In fact I probably won more with the double down system.
After a few months my conclusion- which is nothing new- is all games are a coin toss. Some have a slight advantage if you take in all the elements- but either side could win or lose.

I wager low amounts compared to most here. ($7-$15)
Not looking to get rich- just make watching games more fun.
The most I ever had to double down was $150 and I recouped all losses.

Chasing? Parlays? Are you guys kidding?

There's one way to make money in this business. VALUE PLAYS. You cap every game and whenever you establish an error in the bookmaker's lines, you exploit it using Kelly Criterion. That's it, there's no other way to win!

If you want an example, check my thread. In less than a year, I've turned $1600 into $9800.

DONT CAP....TAIL TAIL TAIL....if you are not a PRO HANDICAPPER with major resources you will never be better than 57% long term....their are a few on here to consistently tail and if you follow them you'll know when they are streakin so you can maximize profit...push when they are rolling, ease off when lukewarm or cold! watch bodio, LasVegas, KineProf....there are a handful of others didnt mean to leave anyone out those 3 just popped out.. if you consistently follow them you'll have no problem knowing who's hot and who's not....take your ego out of it, it only leads to getting humbled

MLB is different then any of the other main sports because its 100% situational.

- Starting pitcher day/night splits

- Starting pitcher home/away splits (look up Wandy Rodriguez' lifetime numbers as an example of how drastic it can be.... )

- How Starting pitcher performed against other teams individual batters (ex. Buehrle is a very solid pitcher.. but bad spot tonight as Yanks roster as a whole hits .315 against him..including Teixera going 14-40 and Swisher 10-22)

- Umpire stats (Greg Gibson had 25 unders in 32 games behind the plate last year)

- Weather at ballpark (Flyball pitcher with wind going out to center at 15mph could be a huge advantage for opposing batter)

- Hitting trends (Pittsburgh is hitting just .156 at home vs. LHP this year)


There's countless more things that I look for.... but those are good stats to start with.

baseballpress.com for lineups, usually put on a few hours b4 gametime, even sooner in some cases.

my favourite picks for the night would be the red sox, tigers,giants and twins and underdogs i got my eye on for tonite would be kansas city and washington.

heavy research helps alot (for me anyways), in whatever sport im picking i research my picks any chance i get all day long, probably an hour or 2, some days even 3,
