I have been sportsbetting for a little over a year and have yet to have a winning month. If anyone has the time to take a degenerate gambler like myself under their wing for a little while. I've lost about 20k since sportsbetting but cannot stop and would love some help in getting on the right track. I will be medically retring from the Army in about a month and would like to learn the ins and outs on sportsbetting and would like to make it my next source of income besides social security and my retirement. Thanks ahead!

Just cap the game brother. If you get caught up following systems without capping the game beforehand you are dead in the water.
Systematic wagering is not a bad thing by any means but for a guy just starting to take this shit seriously it will limit you. If you can combine thorough research, good knowledge of the game and a reliable system you will be fine.

Get in depth with the pitchers. Look to see how they've performed career-wise against the teams they're matched up with. Have they given up a lot of runs or mastered them? Was their pitch count high? Did they K/walk an excessive amount of batters? Keep an eye on home-away splits. Next move on to see how those respective line-ups are hitting Left vs. Right pitching. This will give a little insight into how well that team is playing currently. Sprinkle on top the state of the bullpen, any pertinent weather conditions and I always like to take a peek at the Ump. Look at the blue's numbers not just for current season but whole career- see if he exhibits any patterns. In the end it's just an educated guess.

I have been wagering with success for a long time and never really spent much time following the many systems that are available. They run hot and cold and are limited in their application in my mind.

Solid advice here. This type of approach will find you some value and that is what it is all about.

ive been doing this off and on for 10 years and its hard as hell to make a consistent profit although baseball is the best sport to do it...but its an insane grind. hours of studying numbers and splits then lots of time watching the game as well
maybe to start, just concentrate on one division, then one league

How much time daily do you spend capping the days games? How much time is appropriate to make 3 picks a day?
Once you streamline your process you should quick-cap a game in 10-15 minutes. The more you want to dig is up to you. I find that if I dig too deep I end up running circles around my own ass.

you've lost 20k and can't stop. you should probably look into some help man. Gambling is considered an addiction and can take over someones life.
The first thing to remember is to figure out how much of your total income you want to invest in gambling. This should be 10% or less a year. you can not spend you're yearly salary on gamlbing it is not a smart move. So say 10% of you're yearly salary is 1,000 dollars. You would take 1,000 and divert it towards gambling. With a 1,000 dollar bank roll i would suggest 50 dollar plays. Start out small make 1 or 2 plays a day. If you honestly lose 20 plays in a row this is not the hobby for you.
The key to picking winners is just studying the matchups, like does this team hit well vs lefties etc. Current trends are more important in certain matchups, but past history should play a part in the decision. Ultimately the sports betting world is a market place, lines are moved to draw 50/50 action on sides. Which a lot of people refuse to believe but it is true. Lines moving can effect a bettors decision on whether to punch in the bet or not if i like the yanks at -120 and they jump to -150 i might not like them at much anymore because it was a 60/40 matchup and at 120 you were getting decent odds. In a 60/40 matchup at 150 you are getting bad odds, this would then make it a no play. Sometimes lines move for other reasons as well but those are well documented line moves. Like if kobe bryant is scheduled to miss you'll def know and that will be reflected in the line.
BOL in your endeavor, i don't have much more advice then that. Stay within your limits and don't chase.

as stated best advice ne1 can give u is research. pitcher vs batters pitcher versus clubs umps if listed injury reports weather conditions for outside parks even park conditions for example Arizona is an offensive yard whereas Petco tends to let pitchers hide their mistakes. In my capping I like to look at +105 totals and evaluate them 1st than roll an if off it if I think it will hit. limits the risk and reward is beneficial. that is y if u look at my thread I keyed Braves/Fathers over 6.5 bought it to 6.(which is another + get w/ a book like 5dimes that lets u buy .5 runs take the advantage away from the house; in case they r spot on).

Norris has been stud against Cards...Sorry but that Cards total is very hard to hit considering Pujols is out...I will give you a 3-teamers that has better chance of hitting then Cards TT Over 4...Pick both if you play them...never play 1 parlay. All I play is parlays...Check out my post if you wanna know all my 7 parlays for today but I like the following two the most. Don't bet more than $25 on each. Money management is a key.
Parlay 1:LAD ML, BRAVES ML, PHILLIES ML Parlay 2: GIANTS RL, REDS ML, INDIANS ML
G'luck and play with caution

No offense man...but this is terrible advice. A system like this can go south in a hurry.
Understood- I also cap old fashioned way. Stats, weather, pitcher line-ups,momentum, streaks hot/cold, etc. And I peek around at what some cappers are posting here.
Truth be told- I have won and lost both ways. No more. No less.
In fact I probably won more with the double down system.
After a few months my conclusion- which is nothing new- is all games are a coin toss. Some have a slight advantage if you take in all the elements- but either side could win or lose.
I wager low amounts compared to most here. ($7-$15)
Not looking to get rich- just make watching games more fun.
The most I ever had to double down was $150 and I recouped all losses.
