Betting against the Dodgers successfully is seldom easy, and last night was especially agonizing for those who tried. Tonight, however, presents a rare opportunity to get almost 2/1 against them when they likely won't be anywhere near their best. The Dodgers and Braves wore each other OUT this weekend in a battle of teams that won the last two World Series, and who also eliminated each other on the way to their respective World Series wins. Last night in particular turned into a veritable war of attrition once the Dodgers tied the game when they were down to their last out in the 9th inning. Said Freddie Freeman after the game, "I'm emotionally drained." He might as well have been serving as the team spokesman.

Meanwhile the last place Rockies look unthreatening as they return home from a sad 1-5 road trip through Miami and Minneapolis. But, they're looking to avoid falling back under .500 at Coors Field and they've got Chad Kuhl going for them who's pitched well at home this season. The Dodgers will start their 8-0 bigshot Tyler Anderson, but he's been hittable in his last two road starts. 

Kris Bryant is back today with the Rockies after missing 50 of the team's 73 games this season, and he will likely be in the starting lineup after returning from his rehab stint in Albuquerque. And while all of you know this, it still makes me feel good to mention that Mookie Betts won't be around to bury us with extra base hits. I like the Rockies on the reverse runline tonight.

This will be the 4th time this season the Rockies are returning home following a road loss. They scored 27 runs in the first three such situations on April 29th, May 13th, and May 30th, winning two of the three. They blew out the Reds 10-4 and the Marlins 7-1. but dropped a 14-10 slugfest against the Royals.

I wouldn’t blame Chad Kuhl if he’s suddenly wondering if he might be awesome. He’s not, but it helps getting to face weary batters carrying dead bats. Dodgers had nuthin’ tonight as expected.
