You get what you deserve man. You cant write a check that your ass cant cash. You better work out a way to make some payments and start pawning some shit. Good luck with that. Hide your wife and kids if you have any.

He will do nothing but wait for you to pay him.Be honest and up front with him and make a payment schedule that you can stick to. Don't promise him more than you can do. No bookie or agent is going to risk their business for 2,000 dollars. They know deadbeats and slow payers are part of the business. I used to collect for some books and guys like you are a dime a dozen.

when your down alot its dangerous to bet big! i was down $2k once about 6 years ago. i put $2k on the jets against the eagles. i forget what exactly happened but i do remember the eagles turned the ball over a couple times late in the game and the jets got a score(s) and they covered. i got lucky i couldve been down about $4k. although i had the money if i lost but that wouldve sucked to pay out that much ! i usually just but $100 a bet on average, if im up sometimes more money but the the saying goes if you bet big you can win big but you can lose big too !

yo don't be afraid, work something out with him.work out a payment plan. those days of baseball bats and goons are over with.just work something out and he will work with you. tell him you can work off the debt.the worst he can do is cut you off your betting account until you pay.

I forgot to add that you should call him asap to let him know so that he doesn't plan on using your money to pay others.Show him the respect of calling him tomorrow and being honest. And make sure you don't gamble somewhere else while you still owe him money, that is disrespectful and warrants a smack

good luck man. tell him you will have his money by a certain date and be a man and pay him on that day. don't tell him a date sooner than you can realistically have the money. sale a guitar, gun, xbox or something to make a down payment.

Not to lay off blame, but this is surely not a surprise to your bookie. He could see it coming I'm sure and yet let you slide deeper in debt. Obviously no more action, make a payment plan you can stick to, and then get outta this hole. Man up, let him know early about your issues....all you can do. Don't let it take over your life, don't let it happen again, learn from this and don't let it happen again...that's all I got ...oh, and good luck!

i've been in your situation several times before. Do yourself a favor and stop. my bookie was over/under 1k. And i always paid him off when I lost but eventually got in over my head for 5K.
I tried to conceal it from family and friends but they were my only outs as I maxed out my credit cards and couldn't qualify for loans. You think your loved ones will hate you and they will for a time being, but if you come clean, they are more likely to help. I had to ask my dad, and i cried asking him as i couldn't control myself, he helped me out and he was glad I turned to him. It was the most humiliating point in my life because I knew it hurt him more than it did me. I didn't want him to think he raised a degenerate gambler. I would never forgive myself for that.
If you really don't have anyone to help you or you don't want to tell them, then you have to be honest with your bookie. Hiding from him makes it worst, trust me, I know. He won't beat you up for $2k not worth it. Ask for a payment plan, and work extra hours if you have to. There is no shame in working a $10/hr a job if that's all you qualify for.
If you can't afford to lose $100 bucks comfortably, you shouldn't bet at all PERIOD!!! Quit all together, or do it just for fun, and if you want to make money at it, make serious money management plans. If you can't quit at all, then ask for a smaller credit line. If the bookie cuts you off, consider it a favor.
You are young, let this be a lesson. You have a full life ahead of you and if you handle this correctly, it will be just a small bump in the road and hopefully you can turn this experience into something positive. I started betting at 25, went completely broke because of it by the time i was 28. I lost my job and was depressed and miserable. I've since rebounded, the hardest thing I've done in my life, still paying off debts and will take me some years to do so, and I'm a winning bettor now for the past two years cuz I was disciplined with money management, have a conservative betting plan, and very patient.
My goal is to make a living at the very thing that ruined me between the ages of 25-30. I don't cash from my bankroll, I grow it. I work 50 hours a week and that pays for everything. When my bankroll gets to where I want it to be, have all my debts paid, have two years salary in the bank, then id consider handicapping as my job.
But even then I could have a bad year the rest of the year. Can never be too careful.
Sorry to be longwinded, but I want to to see my point. it starts with losing 2k, then u win 3K, lose 1K, win 1.5K, then lose 2k, 2k, 3k, and next thing u know you are broke. Stop this now before it gets out of hand, if it hasn't already.
Good luck!

i think if you don't pay ur bookie, your mom will know. It's just a matter of time. Just be honest to her. Be the first to tell her the story. I assume you can't afford to pay the bookie by urself.
A riskier approach is to apply for a credit card which gives you at least 6 months of cash at 0% apr(shop around for 2% transaction fee max cc with cap). Pay the bookie first. I guess it will be easier to ask your mom to pay your credit card debt than a bookie debt?
