Is anyone backing Baltimore in Game 2 of the doubleheader?

Good and bad news for baltimore in this one. Charlie Morton has not allowed an earned run to Detroit in his last 23 2/3 innings against them but he is 0-5 with a 10.89 era so far this season.

Tigers 14 straight games( assuming Tigers hold here) at home allowing less than 5 runs. Maybe a lame duck game because it s a DH but I ;learned about this team and their pitching last year. They don't give up lots of runs.

First part of that is irrelevant  the second part is just painful

Most likely Tigers got their win early, now they hand the ball to a stiff. Baltimore’s bats can’t stay cold forever…..Thinking out loud 

You’d have to give the bullpen edge to the Orioles, right?

 Well that's your opinion. I feel that both parts are relevant.

Benn an Orioles fan since 1978  I can be objective though of course    I think the Tigers have the better bull pen  There is no such thing as "due" in sports wagering  I have watched Morton pitch closely this year  The Orioles can not get runs across with runners in scoring position  The Tigers are a good team    Signing a 41 year old starting pitcher to a one year $15 Million Dollar contract is  not the answer  Ask the Blue Jays    There ar etickets in the secondary market for the Yankees series this week for under $20 

1. September 15, 2024 – Montero started for the Detroit Tigers and delivered five scoreless innings, allowing five hits and striking out six. He earned the win in a 4–2 Tigers victory.
2. September 20, 2024 – In a relief appearance, Montero pitched 4.2 innings, during which he allowed five runs on seven hits, including four home runs. He struck out seven batters. The Orioles won the game 7–1.  
3. March 7, 2025 (Spring Training) – Montero started against the Orioles, pitching 2.2 innings. He gave up four runs on four hits and two walks, striking out five.

Montero Vs Detroit 

Charlie Morton is done in this league.

 He was also a rookie last year and one would project him to be better this year. Morton is hot garbage.  

Pitching change 

Detroit’s had decent success against left-handed pitching — how many innings do you think Akin will go?

Akin’s probably going to throw two innings max, then Morton comes in. The line’s dropping — thinking Baltimore might be a live play here.
