Is everyone forgetting this about Cliff Lee?

He has been very inconsistent since being traded.......All of a sudden he wins 1 playoff game and everyone is jumping on his nuts........

He pitched great against TB in the first game, but lets remember that he was in a few major jams that he worked out of......

Last time he pitched vs TB in the regular season he was hit up for 6 runs in 7 innings.....

The next game he gives up an 8 spot to Bmore, next game was 5 to Minnesota, then 4 to KC.........

On the other hand, Price has been more consistent, combine all this with the fact TB has all the momentum and heading back home for an elimination game my gut says that TB jumps on Lee hard tonight giving up at least 4 runs......

Texas hasn't been playing great ball either.....

Any thoughts?

Also, Price has the revenge factor in his favor.  As they don't want the same pitcher to beat them twice in 1 week.

As a Yanks fan, I understand you rooting for Tampa, because there is no way you want to see Lee in games 3 and 7.

You are right Bruce.  During the regular season Lee was very inconsistent.  That being said, this is the post-season and he has great post-season stats.  I am still on the fence.

I was just thinking the same thing. 

It looks to me like bettors are intoxicated with Lee's last outing, and they are forgetting all about the suspect starts he had in the latter part of the season.

In Game 1 of this series the line was TB -130 or so, and most bettors were on the Rays because they were 3-0 against Lee in the regular season.  But now, because of Game 1, all that is out the window and nobody seems to want to bet against  Lee and the line is closer to a pick em.

All this has me leaning hard to the Rays to get it done at home and reverse the "road trend" of this series.

im not in english class... "you're"  a moron because you came into my thread 4 weeks ago, bashed me about how stupid i was that GB -13 over buffalo was my game of the year saying how my post gives you a feeling that buffalo would win straight up... clearly you were wrong

This game is a toss-up.  The winner will be the team who gets the most bloop hits, or which team chokes 1st ala Brooks Conrad.

How can a three start sample size really give you proper stats?  The dude has pitched in three freaking postseason games!  It's not like he's Andy Pettite, who has been through all of this year in and year out.  Really, three starts!!!

leave the regular season at the door its the POST SEASON!!!!! And on lee's nuts after 1 win??? Make it 5 wins in the post season he is 5-0 with a 1.52 ERA.  Price no experience n yea he lost already.  Ill go with a proven big post season gamer in Lee then inexperienced price in a game 5.

well, OK, at least the guy spelled moron correctly and that should dispense with the lesson in grammar and spelling. Anyway, a rough stretch during the season is not unusual for anybody. Halladay didn't throw all perfect games and no hitters did he? When one of best gets in a groove he usually performs like it and short stretches during one year don't mean much. Better to judge Lee by proven past performance and his current 4-1, 1.80 era run. I would also like to cut him a little slack for moving 3 times in 2 years.

How many games has Lee putched in the post season?  How many games do you need to pitch in order to be a PROVEN post-season ace???.....Tough question
