Tonight I'm on the San Diego Padres for the Full Game. SD is finally playing to their potential winning 5 of their last 7 vs solid teams in the Brewers and Dodgers. I realize they returned home from a 3 day trip in Milwaukee on April 17th. However, I usually ignore that angle if they have a day off before their next game. Particularly, when their opponent is at a similar disadvantage. Toronto will be starting a game at 9:40 EST. They just got into California yesterday and there's an adjustment for them as well. So, I'm gonna call the returning home angle a wash here.
I'm on this because the bottom line - Pads pitching and offense are both better than Toronto's. Matt Waldron is one of those underrated and relatively unknown pitchers that has a nasty knuckleball. I love backing knuckleball guys because even the best hitters in the world hate facing them. He throws it at least 1/3 of the time and when it's on, it's unhittable.
The reason I'm not going first 5 is because I have too much respect for Yariel Rodriguez. He's a solid young pitcher that could keep the game close if he's pitching well. It's the two bullpens (and offenses) that can't be compared. Toronto has the 4th worst bullpen in baseball with a 5.53 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. And no pen has been hit harder than Toronto's, leading the league with 15 HRs given up. That's more than twice as many as SD at 7. The Pads have a much more reliable pen, that honestly has been underachieving. They're pitching to a 4.35 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. I understand that's not great, but I expect those numbers to improve as the season moves along. I think Toronto will likely need to make some changes/additions to improve theirs.
Toronto comes in with the 20th ranked offense hitting 233 avg/325 OBP/363 SLG/688 OPS
Give me the San Diego Padres for 3 units at -108
Cheers and BOL

Believe it or not K, but I’m probably the only PADRE fan here on the east coast. Went to SDSU with MR. PADRE and been a fan since 1981. IM ON THE PADS and like your write up . GLTA HERE.

Ha, I believe it. I know the East Coast well. But, in my early 20's, I lived in SD for 8 years. Maybe the best 8 years of my life. Love that town and they love their team. The stadium will be packed tonight. Thanks SDSU and BOL to you too

I lived in San Diego for 5 years while I was in the Navy and they were my favorite 5 years (in regards to location). Let’s go SD! I put 1.5 units on ML and 0.5 units on F5. Best of luck!
