ebear and others.....I guess this is where I get to come in to a thread and sell......................
Question to my fellow bettors: Have you ever bet a football or basketball game where you bet the first half?....I'm gonna guess that the answer is yes.
Follow-up question to my fellow bettors: Have you ever bet a baseball game for the "first half?"...I'm gonna guess no.
There is this "macho thing" in gambling where big men with hairy chests can bet halftime in football and basketball; but if you bet halftime in baseball....you're (fill in your own typecast here).
ELIMINATE THE BULLPENS....ELIMINATE THE MANAGERIAL MOVES...ESPECIALLY IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE....
When you start to handicap a baseball game, you look at the starting pitchers and the oppposing lineups...right?..Of course.
WHY NOT START AND STOP YOUR CAPPING RIGHT THERE!
When you go to the bar and buy yourself an adult beverage, does the bartender ask you if you made that money by betting fullgame or halfgame?......don't think so....
Be smart....be really smart....eliminate all the crap that starts with inning #6.........Come over to the "dark side" and join the growing cult of bettors who ONLY play 5 inning bets....
End of soapbox....off to Happy Hour...
PS>>>>Check my thread, I had LAD & Billingsly for 5......
You can say the same thing to people that 5 innings and were on the NYM. Why not give yourself a chance to comeback if you are down early and take the full game? NYM betters that took the 5 innings lost, when they could have won playing the full game.
For every example people use saying you could have won betting 5 innings there's another example saying you would have lost betting 5 innings.
