Ok so the Rays are bringing up a triple A pitcher and the O's have Gaus who's been pitching well. The Rays have decent bats in the first line up and the O's bats are usually heavy yet sometimes inconsistent.
Gausman was lit up by the Rays last year 8 runs in just a few innings. Granted the Rays have been sub par I think this kid gets wacked today. I'm leaning over 8.5. I saw a spike in the over and now back to even. Tillman blows at home vs the Al.
First game leans Rays +142 Over 8.5
Thoughts on this anyone? On paper the O's look like they should win convincingly.. Public pounding the orioles while a division rival comes to town on a double header..

Yeah I can see an under but why set at 8.5? Hasn't dropped to 8 yet. The unknown pitcher could be solid or let up 5 runs in 5 innings. Tough call. Only playing it due to day degeneracy lol

Orioles SHOULD win the first game. They're the better team overall, much much better lineup, Gausman has been fantastic over his last 3 starts and Tampa has a minor leaguer going.
But this is baseball and things usually don't play out like we envision, so Colome will probably go out and throw 7 shutout innings and Tampa wins.
Whatever I'm on the O's. I'll take my chances with the better team.

Gausman has figured it out...finally....Hot day....
Rays better hope he melts....
Sure Looks that way. I like seeing so many people trying to rationalize a Tampa pick here. Of course they may win but there is a sizable difference in both the starting pitcher and the offense's in this match up that favor Baltimore. I don't like laying this kind of juice on a regular basis but I think this line is still favorable to the Orioles. As an added bonus Colome was absolutely lit up his last start at AAA. Didn't get out of 2nd inning and gave up 8 runs.

Gauzman also let several base runners on last time out ag tampa and was able to get out of a bases loaded jam with 0 outs. I'm a huge Os fan and I'm staying away from this. I think the over is set high too so if anything I'd take over. GL everyone.

the story in this game along with the season for the rays is that they can not hit. I know you want to talk about 8 runs last year when the Rays were hitting and Gausman was just getting a taste of mlb action ... not the story this year . stats are historical information for a reason
