Did I ever mention this story? Several years ago I was at a fancy
restaurant in New York City in the lobby of one of the fanciest hotels having
drinks with friends at a bar and in walks Pamela Anderson with two of her
girlfriends. She looked even hotter in person. While every guy diverted
attention her way, what are the chances that any regular guy is going to walk
out of that place with her? Several drinks later, I found myself at the bar and
Pamela bumped into me and spilled some of her drink on me. I turned around and
was face-to-face with her and suddenly English became a second language to me
and I could barely remember my name. She apologized profusely and started wiping
some of her drink off my shirt with a bar napkin. Heck, she could've spilled a
plate of spaghetti and bolonese sauce on my head and it would've been alright.
She then insisted on buying me a drink and the two of us stood by the bar and
talked. I pinched myself three times while she was buying the drinks to make
sure I wasn't hallucinating because what business do I have talking to Pamela
Anderson; absolutely none. It turned out she is really sweet and funny and we
hit it off. Maybe it was the alcohol but had she been anyone else, I would've
been certain she was hitting on me. Well her two girlfriends walked by with two
guys they must have met and said they were leaving so I was about to say thank
you and walk away with a great story. Pamela turns to them and says, "Great
girls, I will see you tomorrow. I'm going to head upstairs soon and have one
more drink with GameHunter (no, she didn't say GameHunter)." I was thinking,
'there's no way this happening," "This couldn't be right." "I'm obviously asleep
and my alarm clock is about to go off."
A drink later and both of us buzzed, she asks me if I would walk her
upstairs to her room because she is feeling a bit buzzed and doesn't want to
walk alone. I looked around to see if Ashton Kutcher was in the room because it
was clear I was being "punked" but he was nowhere in sight. We walked out of the
bar area and headed to the elevator. I can only imagine what it is to be her 24
hours a day but as we walked, every set of eyes in the hotel lobby was on us;
well at least on her and then the shlub next to her. We get on the elevator and
she tells me how sweet I am and how cool it is that I treated her like a
regular person and not a celebrity and before you know it we playing tonsil
hockey. I am certain this is my last day on earth and the Grim Reaper will be
appearing at any moment and we get out of the elevator and head to her room and
quite frankly, I was willing to take my one-way ticket to heaven after one night
in bed with her. We get to her door and she presses right up into me and gives
me the most passionate kiss of my life. I couldn't believe that I was about to
bang Pamela Anderson. I am moments away from one of my greatest victories in
life. She inserts the key into the door, opens it, turns around, says thank you
and slams the door in my face and says, "good night" and I never saw her
again.
Well, I always enjoyed creative writing and obviously that story is not
true but that is the best way I could describe having the Tampa Rays last night
minus 1.5 runs. I had no shot in hell of winning as the score climbed from 1-0,
4-0, 5-0 Blue Jays and even at 5-3 entering the 9th inning, I should've turned
off the television. 5 walks, a wild pitch and one hit later, the Rays took a 7-5
lead and the Jays' closer, Kevin Gregg, was walking me to his hotel room.
Of course a friend of mine texted me and said what a great comeback in
Toronto so I knew I was mushed as I headed to the bottom of the 9th. Fred Lewis
leads off the inning with the most routine grounder of the game and Reid Brignac
somehow sails the ball over Carlos Pena's head for a two base error. Thankfully
Rafael Soriano gets Hill to fly out and Lind to strikeout and the key is in the
hotel door as Vernon Wells steps to the plate. Wells smacks one off the wall in
left scoring Lewis and then Bautista flies out to slam the hotel door shut as I
lose the minus 1.5 runs in a game I should've had no shot at winning, 7-6.
What a tease!!!!

great story and analogy.....enjoyed it and I have experienced both sides of the fiction part (no clebs, but plenty of hotties that went my way and a few that didn't) and unfortunately both sides of the non-fiction part as well..too many times than I like to remember.

Great story Game!!! I had the same bet and was tracking it on CBSsports; Couldn't believe my fortune for even having a shot at this bet, but when the guy made the error, I knew it was a doomed deal. Probably never had a more titillating bet...
You're on Philly again I see; gotta go against you on this one. Without Rollins and Polanco, the Phils are having too much of a struggle scoring. Gonna lay the lumber and go with the hot team.
All the best, RT2

Kyle could pitch a good game today, hes much better now than start of year, but that 197 batting against righthanders L-10 tells me why the Phils are losing. Then the sweep factor,Mutts got them 2 series ago,so even though I tried to find a reason to take the Phils,I cant do it.Im thinking of taking the under at this point, but might go with Atl.F-5.
GL today GH,seems you have even out now, staying down the same units, couple good days and there you are.
