I will stick with
the Rockies today after the bullpen blow of last night. Plus $ with Anderson is
a good deal.
Cubs -255, Hendricks/Clemens
Best pitcher on a
great staff and a Cy Young contender is not likely to blow one to a team with
only 3 quality performances in their last 10 versus righty and a 3.48 oera. If
he does struggle, his own offense could carry the day as they have 9 quality outings
their last 10 and an oera of 9.07. I compute an 89% win probability for the
Cubs and need only 71.8% to justify the -255. Lay it, and take the 39.2%
profit.
Braves +131, Teheran/Greinke
On any given day
the Braves stand a good chance with Teheran on the hill and right now they are
hitting pretty well. The name “Greinke” and HFA have the D-bax way overvalued
in this spot.
BOL
Crashdavis “fade the Braves” is now 21-14, -207 (Diamondbacks closed -113)

I got slaughtered yesterday and thinking about the Rockies for a 3rd day in a row
We talked about Greinke in the off-season. I think chase is horrible for him in hindsight. He's a pop em out pitcher, and you know that AZ air...completely went over my head. I thought that he might regress from going to a good framing catcher to a poor framing catcher in Castillo. Not sure if that's relevant.

Love your picks 90% of the time Key, but I'm not sure I understand your COL love as road warriors.
Pitching matchup is about even given away/home and pens, etc.
COL has one of the lowest OPS .699 when they're not at Coors.
MIL OPS .757 this month and .764 at home.
They have the momentum and confidence going for them, pen has been playing better than COL.
I know Davies recent two performances were bad, but he did have to go into Chicago and face the cubs, and went up against a red hot CIN team that is a completely different AUG club than they were early in the year. I think this is a good spot for him to bounce back.
You're an amazing capper, so I must be missing something. I was leaning MIL, but I respect you enough to pass/at least spend some more time looking into game.

You do not like the Porcello-Andriese match up today?
Porcello pitching at a very high level right now
Good luck today
I like Porcello over Andriese but the line started too high. It has come down steadily but I want to see -140 before I pull the trigger. That is where I feel true value lies, and it may get there.

There will always be those working from traditional stats with traditional methods that don't agree with me, because that is not what I do. No big deal, you win some, you lose some. Sometimes by 1, sometimes by 10, which doesn't matter anyway because the payback is the same. If you don't like a pick, for your own reasons, don't play it. If you really don't like a pick, again for your own reasons, fade it. No one is going to win or lose them all, but my self developed program, along with my personal experience in both baseball and sports gambling has been successful and is not likely to change. BOL
