Mlb Season Total - Cincinnati Reds

I have seen a few people on the over 73.5 - and I don't understand why....and it's juiced to -130.

They haven't been over that total since 2014....and they play in a division that has the Cubs, Cards and Brewers who should all win 85+ games...

How are they going to get to 74? What am I missing? I really like the UNDER 73.5 at (+108).

Please tell me why I am wrong.....

I like the Reds over.

I don't think the Brewers get over their total despite the good additions.

Pitt might lose the most games of any team this year, and the Cardinals won't be celebrating to many wins this year either.

When I do season totals I like to look at the schedule.

The Reds play their normal National League Schedule

I consider, FLA, NYM, PIT, SD,ATL not as good as the Reds.

I think PHI, SF, COL, AZ,STL may be even with the Reds this year, with to me, only STL maybe not as good.

Cubs, Dodgers,Nationals and disagreeing with Sac, the Brewers they will have trouble with.

Reds won 68 games last year and haven't made many big 

changes


I would count 2 of 3 wins against the first group.

I would go 50-50 for second group 

I would go 1 of 3 for third group.

Take in to consideration home and away.


REDS interleague this year....

TWINS - 3

KC - 4

DET - 4

CWS - 3

CLE - 6

I went through the REDS schedule twice and came up with

79 wins and 78 wins.


Good thing to note is last  year, Reds interleague schedule may 

be considered tougher.

Last year, BAL 1-2, NYY 1-3, CLE 2-2, TOR 0-3, TB 1-2 , BOS 0-3

That's 5-15, Reds will probably win more interleague games 2018


Conclusion 73.5 is not too much of a stretch.

I still like the Under 73.5 (+108)....here is why:

Last year the Reds went 37-39 against the division. I don't think that they will be close to that....the Cubs should win 90+ games and I think the Cardinals & Brewers should be around the mid 80's...Pirates won't be very good, but should win 70+....not enough wins in the division...IMO.

In September, the Reds play 9 straight games against the Dodgers, Cubs and Brewers....with the last six being on the road. To me, that has 2-7 written all over it...and with the Reds being out of contention, they might have a Triple 'A' lineup most of the last month...

I could be wrong but, at + money...it's worth a bet Under 73.5 (+108).

Reds have a lot of questions that need to be answered with their starting rotation. Will Bailey make a comeback being the biggest and will the pitching staff shake off the injury bug. Votto and Duvall are solid but they were last year and the Reds still struggled. Too many questions left unanswered. Can't see them better than last in their division. The Brewers are the team to watch this year in NL Central.

A winner from last year - as the Reds finished with 67 wins.....they started 3-18 which put them in a big hole.

On to 2019 - I like the UNDER 79.5 (-108) - they should be improved...but, I can't see them with 80 wins. Cubs, Cardinals and Brewers are better teams and will eat up a lot of wins. I also think Pittsburgh might flirt around .500 - I just don't think there are enough wins in the division for the Reds....

As soon as Vegas put out the Reds 79.5 I put 5 grand on the OVER. I also bet small but with great odds the Reds to win division, NL & World Series.

This is going to be the surprise team to many.

Scoring runs is no problem. It's the pitching.

Well...Grey, Wood & Roark coming in changes everything! Watch L.Castilo & Winkler to have a monster season. 93 Wins for the Reds.

Im on the over as well.  I really like this team this season.  Their hitters are extremely underrated.  I think they get out to a hot start and cruise over 79.  The # at 5dimes is over 79 at even money which is best I found.

Good discussions Kids.
I usually bet a small wager on the west coast teams.
A's really pulled one out last year.
Big Bob Melvin fan in motivating his team.
Bruce Bochy Final Season.
Emotional at best for the team.
But the Giants have struggled.
Hit them also as an Under last Year.
Dodgers get all the Love for the NL West.
Still waiting to see how the Spring goes and all the Local NEWS Hype?
But I do look to put something down on both teams just to keep it interesting around the Bay Area!

There is one thing that makes this Reds team dangerous. And that's a bunch of vets on 1 year deals. They will all be auditioning themselves for a future contract whether with the Reds or someone else.

They could even have "Cinderella" potential.

The NL Central will be a brawl all year long

I´m shocked to see Atlanta being rated below the Reds. They won the East last season. They basically did not lose anyone this year (Kurt Suzuki who alternated with Flowers already), they got Donaldson, they get back Vizcaino, and most importantly, it is a very young team which is maturing. Ronald, Ozzie, Freeman, a pitching rotation that does not have a super ace, but is quite solid all around. I see them as a sleeper pick to make it to the playoffs.
