System evaluation

 

Today I was looking at a way to gain more switching bookmakers. I currently use unibet, but I saw pinnacle has better odds in general. So I recompiled my spreadsheet with backtested result searching for the better odds to see how much the result would improve. I also created two more spreadsheet: one with slightly increased handicap (-1.0 instead of ml, 0.5 added to the over/under line) and one with higher handicap (odds around 3.5). All plays were to win 1 unit

Here are the result since start of the season:

- Standard system: 80-32-2, profit +37.48 units, units played 160.13, yield +23.41%

- Slightly increased handicap system: 58-34-22, profit +23.9 units, units played 121.82, yield +19.62%

- Higher handicap system: 47-62-5, profit +19.71 units, units played 49.38, yield +39.91%

 

Looking at the detailed results, April was a month full of 1 run victory, meanwhile May apart from a couple of low odds losses is currently 20-16-1 in the higher handicap system.

Anyway, as I expected the system works really well with higher handicap, so from now on I will post the higher handicap line too, which I won't count in the record until the start of next month.

I could also evaluating each play based on h2h and previous results to identify higher handicap likelyhood, but it's too much work to backtest.
