Diamondbacks: Play to +140: Very early play, like the minute you get out of bed. This is one of the more ridiculous lines you will see all weekend. Of course it can lose, any play can, but the concept that at -230 the Cubs have a 70% chance of winning is ludicrous.

Thought the same thing when I looked at it. Lester's lines are always absurd. Cubs have been playing mediocre of best lately winning 1 game in their last 2 series. 1 of those was the no-no by Jake and the other was on a late HR. They could definitely win this game, but the line is just absolutely ridiculous and way too much value not to hop on. I'll take my chances with a good hitting D'Backs team.

Hello guys I am on the opposite side i won big yesterdays so wth why not .line is to high for a cubs team that hasnt been hitting nor pitching as well execption arrieta but they always bounce back at home .arizona has no goldy and a couple other hurt players so arizona doesnt convince me If goldy was there then yes arizona.Hope to see lester in a bounce back game from bad outings and cub offense wake up in that baby field they play in

You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I think a lot of guys worry too much about one position player/hitter when team offense is never about one guy. Pitching is an individual effort, run production is a team effort. BOL

Goldschmidt out for the Dbacks, Schwarber out for the cubs. I am betting Dbacks for 5 innings at +188. The Dback starter Godley has a great ERA but he is only a spot starter with limited MLB experience. On the other side Lester has no business being a +200 pitcher as our man KeyElement points out.  He has been blown up in 2 of his last 5 starts. 

Win or lose I am happy with this value bet. This Cub team went on a hitting tear a while back but they are are a very inexperienced that have a lot to prove. Lester might have been an ace in Boston last year, but he has been nothing special in Chicago.

I think to refer to Zack Godley as a “spot starter” may be erroneous. He is being groomed as a starter, or at least they are giving him a shot at it. Of his five MLB appearances three have been starts, and in those three he went 6 innings in each, 18 total, and surrendered only 14 hits and 5 walks versus 17 K’s and only 3 earned runs, for an era of 1.50 and a K/BB ratio of 3.4:1. None of that was against the Cubs, so we also have the advantage of throwing a guy they have not seen yet, and as good as scouting reports are, it is not the same as having faced the guy. We also have the wind blowing in toward home plate to negate some of the pitching advantage, if there is any. Final opinion = tossup, at a heck of a bonus price. Jmho.
