Forget I said that, as it flies in the face of my Stardust bums theory as detailed in linewatcher's thread prior to the Sunday night Dodgers/Braves ESPN game.
So you dont like the yankess and will have a play on them?

MrBator,
I have been following the M's thru 3825 and will give you some info on the game you may not know. This was copied from another poster.
“Aside from the aforementioned series sweep against Oakland in the first week of the season, the Mariners have had four other chances this season to complete a three-game road sweep after of course taking the first two contests. Their record in this situation is 0-4 (the opponents were the Angels (2), Padres and most recently the Red Sox). So history indicates they have trouble winning that third game to bust out the brooms. This has got to be a contributing factor as to why lowly Bruce Chen is favored tomorrow. (Of course Seattle claimed the first two games of this battle royale against K.C. )”
My figures show Vargas started 13 times and is 6-7 FG and 5-71 for 1st 5.
Chen started 7 times and is 1-6 FG and 0-7 for 1st 5.
The totals
Vargas was 4/9 FG and 5/8 1st 5.
Chen was 2-5 FG and 2-3-2 1st 5.
FG totals,
9 of Vargas's 13 starts went under 9 1/2 (7 Road are 2/5)
5 of Chen's 7 starts went under 9 1/2. (2 Home are 1/1)
Vargas thru 5 shut out innings on 7/08 and next start he went 4in 6ER and 1 HR. His last start he went 5 at Tex, 5 ER and 2 HR's. Since that lay off he has been no good.
Chen has not pitched that bad except for the outing at Det. Myself, I am undecided on under 9 1/2 with Andy Fletcher or KC ML.
I wanted to tell you this before the game since you weren't already down for your help here.

I'm just about to the point where I'll have no choice but to lay down some dollars on Boston +1.5, Boston ML, and Boston -1.5. If I lose, I lose.
The coldest gambler I know, a good guy who's descended from sub-freezing to positively arctic, just informed me that the Yankees on the runline is the way to go.

Thank you, bigbozo, I appreciate it. I read that post earlier and I'd like to read it again after this Red Sox/Yankees game gets underway.

MrBator,
What did you come up with after you looked over the info? I'm still on the fence and wondered how you deciphered that.

The Royals are quitters and Bruce Chen is no losing streak stopper. He's not the biggest meatball artist around, but he's just a loser. I feel kinda bad for the guy.
