NLCS GAME 7 (10/24)

The Phillies appear finished. They can’t get a clutch hit to save their lives. It just felt obvious that neither Trea Turner nor Bryce Harper were going to get to Kevin Ginkel. 

Ginkel might be my favorite Diamondback.  Literally like every reliever should be.  SIX.  MORE.  OUTS.

This sold-out crowd……..they know.

Ginkel just made Alec Bohm look foolish and Bohm then took it out on his bat. The frustration has boiled to the surface. The Phillies are feeling helpless at this juncture.

Bryson Stott fared NO better.

Those two walks issued in the 7th by the rookie Andrew Saalfrank will probably be the final baserunners for this gasping home team.

J.T. Realmuto strikes out, too. I don’t wanna say it’s over at the end of 8 innings but it SO is.

I've got a Ginkel jersey on hold.  3 more outs I'm shaking I've never had a bet this big in my life and I've backed these guys for weeks.

Sewald going to mow them down...this also will keep me posting for the Dbacks games so I'm going to need all the stats @MrBator

The freezing cold Castellanos, Marsh, and perhaps a pinch-hitter will be the final three batters for the Phillies.

What a helpless feeling for these fans. They have to have known it since the 5th inning when their team wasted the Schwarber leadoff double. No more hits after that. 

In the long lineage of historic Philly sports chokes, this is right up there with the worst of them.

Thanks everyone.  I'm so excited for everyone involved.  Happy for Mike Hazen after his loss.  Just so nice to back them throughout and have it come to fruition.

This Phillies fold job is complete. All three batters in the 9th flew out harmlessly. This Game 7 felt like a 4-2 blowout. The moment Arizona scored that fourth run, this no longer felt like a close game. And the moment Turner and Harper were retired in the 7th following the back-to-back walks, the door seemed to slam shut.

Congratulations, LAGameofInches. What a playoff run. I wish I could have kept the faith for one more game, but I didn’t want to back a team that needed to win Games 6 and 7 on the road because it hardly ever happens. 

And so it happened twice in the same playoff season for the first time ever. And on consecutive days. The Philadelphia Phillies need to admit after this game that they choked. This was a textbook choke job tonight.
