YTD (DIAMONDBACKS GAMES): 9-3-1
What a great run it's been, and played a few other games in the playoffs with some success, tailing some of the other cappers I have mentioned before, so I have much gratitude for the entire forum. Even those who have come in and tried to bash for whatever reason, you at least keep me on my toes!
A posted winner in the NFL with the UNDER last night was parlayed with the Dbacks F5 (I had also played the F5 in a straight wager) so it made up for for quite a hit I had taken on the game Saturday. I am now just a mere feet from a plateau I have not reached, starting with a mere $1000 play on the Dbacks ML against the Brewers. So how do I get over the hump?
Well, as I stated, I have placed a wager on the Diamondbacks +350 to win the series after Game 2, and an eye opening +500 was there for the taking before yesterdays game. But this is nothing new for the snakes, as 85% of the public had apparently the Brewers winning that first series which was crazy for me to have read. The next round I read things like NO WAY the Dodgers get swept, or GOY, or some other things but we all witnessed what happened.
Onto this series, where the doubters were out in full force especially after the first two games went to Philadelphia. I have to admit, I didn't have much confidence in the Diamondbacks winning those games and, well, they didn't. I did hit an UNDER which made me some cash but I took a long shot with the series odds so high after Game 2 and now here we are.
Last night, I read that Bruce Bochy had NEVER lost a Game 7 and Dusty Baker had NEVER won a Game 7. So I also rode that stat. Then I heard on the telecast that the Phillies have NEVER, EVER played a Game 7 and the Diamondbacks, well, we remember the Game 7 they played. Could this be a repeat of that World Series victory?
Brandon Pfaadt, and I have wrote this tirelessly, has been phenomenal over the past month, both at the end of the regular season and in the playoffs. He, like so many rookie pitchers, struggled out the gate, but he has found his confidence, made adjustments, and now is pitching in the biggest game of his life. Ranger Suarez, for the Phillies, has been so incredibly cool in the postseason and continues to just do his thing on the biggest of stages.
The Diamondbacks are not very good against lefties, and expect Marte, the hottest hitter they have, to lead off. The lineup I think will be unchanged and once again defense will be a big deciding factor as to who advances to play the Rangers. I have a TON of money on that series odds, at least for me, and I usually don't wager like that but I was parlaying winnings into that future. So while I back the Diamondbacks to advance, I cannot place more on the game b/c of the future. Instead, I am super confident that the FIRST FIVE/FIRST HALF UNDER 4.5 will cash, as nerves and good pitching along with sublime defense will get us more profits.
Keep the comments coming, I posted early, happy to hear everyone's thoughts and, as always, tail or fade, good luck to all...
