Dean Kremer has been pitching very well of late. With the postseason looming and the Orioles still undecided on a 3-man rotation, I expect Kremer to throw well in Anaheim. The Angels are a sinking ship and likely without Ohtani due to right oblique tightness. Reid Detmers has been trending in the wrong direction for the better part of a month and will face one of the better lefty-hitting teams in the league. -145 in this spot feels like a bargain, considering the pitching matchup and team motivation. I'm usually not an overnight player, but I had to lay it for a sizable wager. Thoughts?

I like the play Kmoney. You're spot on with your analysis. Baltimore ranks 9th in MLB against left handed pitching. Not to mention, the Angels have been rolling out minor league lineups and they'll have to beat Dean Kremer tonight. He's an underrated pitcher that hasn't given up more than 3 runs in a game since July 19th. He pitched more than 5 innings in every outing except one. For the month of August, he had a 2.37 ERA, 1.05 Whip, and teams hit just .212 against him.
Detmers on the other hand (in August) is 1-2 with a 7.94 ERA, 1.85 WHIP, and the league hit him for a .308 avg. He did beat Texas with a 7 inning gem limiting to them one hit. But who hasn't beaten Texas recently? Otherwise, he pitched very poorly in his 4 other starts.
I'm seeing -160 now, so you got a great line at -145. -130 (at -1) can still be had for those looking for looking to lessen the juice.
My only concern is Detmers was a highly touted prospect and will be a great big leaguer someday. Although, even if he does show up tonight, I don't think the Angels can outscore Baltimore with the way Dean has been going. The O's are rolling and I'll be surprised if they don't sweep the Angels.

Thanks for stopping by, my man! I recall Detmers twirling that gem against the Rangers, but as you stated, many teams have been beating the Rangers lately. Outside of that start against the Rangers Detmers has been abysmal in August. He's still very young and was the tenth overall pick in the 2020 draft so I'm sure his potential will show in a year or two. It's a tall order facing the best team in the AL with everything to play for so I had to take the shot.

Geez, This one has steamed to -180! If it dips below -155 (which it won’t), I might bite or if I can get -125 or better at -1. But I can’t lay the juice as it is. Damn it, I thought Detmers would see some backing, but I guess nobody likes his chances with that lineup behind him. Nice job catching that early line, Kmoney! BOL on getting the W

Thanks, pal! I've also been monitoring the line, and seeing it balloon to -180 makes me feel good about wagering overnight. Win or lose, I'm always willing to take a shot, considering the direction the teams are headed and the line being favorable. I will say that if the Orioles don't score in the top of the first inning, the line should be around -130 heading into the bottom of the first. That could be a time to buy low and avoid the vig.

You deserved better, Kaufee! I was way off predicting the line would be -130 after a half-inning. I saw -180 on Betonline in the bottom half of the first. Great job on your part grabbing a favorable line with low vig. The Orioles were not their normal selves tonight but with the game on the line they showed their true colors.
