The initial ruling was a hit...so, the runner on first advanced to 2nd based on the call...then, after discussion, the umpires overturned the call and called the batter out.  You can not double up the base runner for advancing on the original call from the umpire, which was a hit.  On the overturn, the runner is sent back to first and the batter is out

did u not see the replay? ruiz was standing on first already when the throw came in so it doesnt matter
