Well said brother, the game cannot be beaten without financial discipline
It's all about financial discipline . Success Has little to do with picking winners, actually picking winners is the easiest part of the whole process, most bettors have great ability to pick winners. They're problem is they cannot control the amount they wager per game
Amen bro

To be honest, I was chasing hot streaks I had before. I had turned a few dollars (usually deposited $50-$100) into good money (5 figures) a few times. Then proceeded over the next few months to piss it away gambling, vacations etc. I just recently got tired of it and did what I stated before and sounds like you did the same. I am much happier now even though I am not making as much money. But I am not losing as much either.
A dollar not lost is every bit as significant to your pocket as a dollar earned. GL

The answer to everything here is to only bet 3-5 % of your entire bankroll on any one play. On occasion I will bet 10% on a play but that is very very very rare. This discipline is the only way for long term success in sports gambling. Those of you out there who know what im saying ..........you are the wise ones. It is the only path to long term profitability .
You make many valid points... GL to you brother

This really touched home! I went on a very sick run between sports betting and playing poker very recently. Had over 4k! The most I have ever had in my account and I started with $100 I needed this money for me and my family to say the least real bad. But no, I wanted 5k, I wanted more. To make a long story short I lost it all in two days. I really hope I can read this once in a while again and learn something and apply it to my life. Very well said thank you for sharing.

The issue is that even if this degenerate goes on the win streak of his life for a month, he is going to bet bigger and bigger until a few losses gets him so tangled up emotionally that he lets it all ride simply so he can get back to where he was.
^ This right here summed up my situation.

Shut up and post your picks.....I'm kidding. You have really shown the knack to win more than you lose. I really appreciate your picks. I also appreciate someone that has been around for a while posting something like this. I probably fall partially under the bet too much category even though i bet very little. Sometimes it's good to read reminders to keep it in check! BOL to you moving forward.

Glad it touched home for you brother. Think about it, if you change a thought, you change your standard actions and reactions, and if you change your action you change you result. BOL to you

Tbh guys. If you are finding that the discipline and patience isn't there. Just quit gambling. It takes a lot of discipline and a huge time commitment. No point in gambling if you're not gonna do it right.

JS you seem like a good capper but you also seem to have a dislike of Key. As soon as he commented on your piece with a very even tone you got uppity and did not address his points. What rubbish about humanity etc. he merely stated that the degenerates who need to change their ways will not be helped by pinning of this or any other piece about money management. He also stated it has been written many times which is also true. You really do yourself a disservice with your apparent jealousy and claiming in writing to be very good. Let others draw their own conclusions from your record. Nothing else mattersAnd on subject, most degenerates know their issue is money management. They just can't do itYou might as well post on a smokers forum that all that coughing will go away if you just stop. You think people don't know this?Good luck with your plays
So did Key give you a permission slip to leave the Key compound to post this, or are you doing this on your time for 'extra credit'?
You didn't really respond to any of my points did you? Why not? I made a number of them and not just about Key. I have no beef with you as a person but this thread is a bunch of people saying the same thing, agreeing with each other and back slapping. We're not really learning much or debating are we.... Good luck with your picks

Gambling is just like any other drug or pleasure in moderation. Some people can be satisfied betting 50 bucks a game; and others eventually need more of a rush and start to bet higher wagers. Most people will pick a winner, win 50 bucks and still be mad because they "could have won more if they had just risked more." So the next time they do it they lose and they are mad. Listen to each his own. Worry about you. Moderate yourself. You don't walk up to obese people and tell them you should stop eating so much, you should eat in moderations like me. Same thing. Don't tell others how much to eat or not eat. Just worry about you brother.
