My guesses are Cleveland, Texas, Washington or the Cubbies.

We are hearing many rumors Rangers lying low to snatch Fielder Please don't, but that means this might be the end of Young's stellar TX career.

Watch out all u can eat buffets around town

Hamilton wants a raise. Cruz arbitration eligible next year and a free agent in 2 years, Kinsler to a free agent after next year. They have to think ahead.

You are dead on here. All the pressure is on John Daniels and how he HANDLES all these guys lining up at the PAY window If he doesn't do these guys right, all this work he has done could make Rangers implode from   within

Furthermore. a rumor I should have posted in my winter meeetings thread is NOLAN RYAN himself said. when asked about potential blockbuster deals involving RANGERS, "if somebody offered us something really good (ie Hamilton I believe), we would NOT hesitate to listen"

I don't think Rangers want to even go there with JOSH

Let me correct myself regarding Kinsler. Texas have a team option for 2013.

I don't think Rangers want to even go there with JOSH

Hamilton is . The guy has one of the sweetest swings if not the sweetest in baseball, he has a rocket for an arm and can run!  IMO he deserves the brinks truck treatment.

Fielder is good but not Hamilton good.

brewers nope, k-rod screwed them
stl possible
jays, unlikely as they will only give him a 5 year deal
cubbies, i would say are the favourite
washington, i don't see why they would do it with a good 1B already

****Prince is definitely running out of options which is good for the Jays. The longer this drags out the better it will be for the Jays.

As far as the Nationals are concerned, I assuming you are referring to Mike Morse. He has started more MLB games in the outfield than at 1B. Prince would fit in well.

Exactly.  I would say Washington and Seattle would have a chance.  I would also say he's may only get a 3 year, $65 deal....ala what Ryan Howard had to do a while back.

IF the Rangers get him all the sudden they have outdone the Angels. Spending similar money for much younger guys. Either way its ok with me. Its either Prince or resign Josh next year

Funny feeling. Prince is shorter and heavier than his daddy, and is at the same age his daddy started to decline. Cecil Fielder did not ride his peak years very long. I think some of the folks assessing him may be taking that into consideration and the offers may not be up in the stratosphere, hence; he is not yet signed. A long term deal would probably be best for him, but maybe not for a club. Whatever happens, it will be interesting to watch the balance of his career.

I heard one of the baseball pundits speculate that since there doesn't seem to be a solid market for Prince right now---for whatever reason-- that his agent might to get him a one year deal for around $20 million with an AL team, then go balls out in a better free agent market in 2013....when he will still be just 28 years old.

Anyone hear abut this?

PS: No way the Cubs will sign him for the dough he wants. I think the Rangers are most likely to sign him, but maybe for just one year.

What leads credence to this is that it is rumored hear in Chicago that the Cubs-Rangers have been discussing a Garza for Mitch M<oreland and prospects deal, which would lead a clear path to first base for Fielder in GTexas.

I've got a gut feeling that Matt Garza starts the 2012 season with the Blue Jays. His contract falls right into Jays GM AA plans. A #2 starter under contract for the next 2 years at around $8 mill. His career record is similar to John Danks except for the 3.83 era and Danks just signed for $13mill per for 5 years. Garza is a bargain. The Cubs are looking to retool the organization and the Jays have a quality prospects. Epstein and AA will find a way.

I am hearing similar here in Dallas but nothing will be done till Prince is signed. Dont be surprised to see Harrison in the deal as well which I hate but a possibility

That is the million dollar question. If I were the Blue Jays GM I would offer Kyle Drabek and Brett Cecil. Or maybe Drabek and Travis Snider.

I doubt they are willing to give up Drabek already...he was the key piece in hte Halladay trade...no way they trade him yet

Sometimes you have to admit you made a mistake and move forward. His AAA numbers are disgusting. 75inn 111 hits with a 7.44era in 15 starts.12 HR 41BB 45K's. He's obviously not over powering AAA hitters.

Drabek is no longer the center piece of the Halladay trade. Travis d'Arnaud has emerged as the Blue Jays top prospect. Drabek is not even in the top 10. Happy trails Kyle.

Don't worry Drew Hutchison will make everyone forget the name Kyle Drabek.
