The Cardinals had their chance, and they blew it. They could have locked him up before free agency ever happened, and they blew it. I guess the Cardinals never even looked at the number of free agents that leave when they have a chance. That's called blowing it.

All Albert did was give them 11 years of the greatest 11 years ANY guy in the majors had IN HISTORY. The Cards response? Albert gave them a hometown discount and watched other bums make more than him at first base.....(Ryan Howards/Tex/Gonzo in Bos.........when it came time to pay up, Cards couldn't handle it.  Who cares how many millions these players make any more?  Players have little loyalty because owners arer stupid enough to give them the insane contracts.  The salaries are out of control, and dumbass fans will eventually foot the bill. 

That is why I only care who I bet on, and I do not give a damn otherwise about ANY team in ANY sport.  In today's day and age of sports greed from players and owners, I think you have a mental disease if you actually care and are a fan of any team.

It is okay for kids to root for an organization because they do not know any better;.  But as an adult, one should realize that the sports industry quit caring about their fans a long time ago.  But hold on to your youth and ignorance as long as you can if it makes you happy.
