I'm back from a very long weekend. Still nursing a hangover, so not much energy for an elaborate write up. Although I do have a few comments.
I think this is a great spot for the Rays to pick up a W tonight. In 2023 they hit lefties really well, ranking 6th in the Majors with a .270 team avg. They bring back most of the lineup that contributed to that. Zach Eflin resurrected his career in TB last year. He pitched to a career best 16-8 record, with a 3.50 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. He had a clunker to start the season vs Toronto, but looked dominant in his last start vs a potent Texas lineup. I expect more of the same tonight against a shitty Angels team.
I love Ron Washington, great guy and solid manager. But he was dealt a bad hand. This is the same old Angels, minus Ohtani. Yeah, they have a 5-4 record, but 3 of those wins came against Miami - so not sure how much weight that carries? They got dominated by both Baltimore (outscored 25-11 in the series) and Boston (outscored 21-10 in the series). They're just not a good team. Tyler Anderson looked great against Miami. However, his 2023 stats - 5.43 ERA and 1.49 WHIP makes it hard for me to believe he's got another one up his sleeve. Particularly against a quality team that rakes lefties.
Give me the Rays -141 for 2 units. Most of the country will be watching Uconn/Purdue while the Rays hopefully beat up on the Angels. I'll be watching both games.
Cheers everyone and BOL

@LVTruck - Ha, you know it LV. I'll be pouring that 1st one in about 2 hours, maybe sooner. @River_fish - Let's get it River! And yes - Under Stephen Vogt, I'm starting to believe those Guardians are gonna be a very good team this year.
@River_Fish - I've been drunk for 3 days and did not realize Shane Bieber is having season ending surgery. I had him as a Cy Young candidate. I still like this team to win a lot of games, but wow - I don't like them nearly as much. brutal loss
