fuck off man. Im from ny and have been to plenty of Yankees games. Nobody rushes out early to beat traffic unless its like 12-0 and at that point you should. Even if some do, have you seen where the stadium is located? Yanks fans are very knowledgeable. I'm fairly certain they would know why cano was being benched against kazmir
No offense Yankees have 26 titles and I like u over the redsox......but Yankee fan compared too Reds Sox and Cardinal fan is a joke. You have and never will be confused with our knowledge of the game. Its painful I'm sure but ask any one that knows baseball and we all know Boston and St. Louis is where it has always been in terms of knowledgeable fans.....what are you 25? Probability is good I would say.

I have to jump in on this conversation. There is no way to determine which fan base is more knowledgeable than the other. You can talk to one person whose a clueless fan and says he likes the Yankees(probably a front runner) and has no idea what he's talking about, and have a total of 1 clueless "Yankee Fan". On the other hand, I could do the same thing and ask a Cardinal or Red Sock fan a question about their team and maybe they don't know either. I go under the catagory that is familiar with the Yankees' entire team and a majority of their minor league system and follow them closely. I think I am considered a "knowledgeable" fan. And there are pleanty of people out there who know more than me and less than me. Does that make them bad fans? No. Who cares who knows what about their team? I fan to me is a person who cheers for their team to win every time they take the field no matter what. Just because they don't know the opening day lineup for the 1962 team doesn't mean their not a good fan. Who cares who has a better and more knowledgeable fan base? I know I don't. I enjoy talking to the people who share the same passion I do when I go to a game and thats cheering for the Yankees to win. Maybe Red Sox fans know more about their team than Yankee fans. Hell, maybe Royal fans know more about their team than Red Sox fans. Who is anybody to determine who knows more? Osirus and I are knowledgeable Yankee fans. Diamond Jake is a knowledgeable Cardinal fan. And Goose, papi, redsox ect. are knowledgeable BoSox fans, as is revengeissweet for the Jays, even though I'm not too sure he's a "fan" of them. It is what it is and nobody should have the right to say who has a better fan base than the other.

3/4 of the Red Sox fans are a cult following anyway. I went to Boston this summer and it only proved my beliefs. Most Yankee fans have been fans of the game, and their team their whole lives. They bleed baseball. Where were these legions of fans*cough*Red Sox Nation*cough* in 1996 - 2003??? Following the Patriots in the early 2000s, not concerned about baseball.
*Yankees Republic* Land of the free, and Home of 26 World Championships!!!

We can take this one final step. Ask the question, "Who are the most knowledgeable baseball fans in the country". There is no doubt in my mind that St Louis and Boston are the two best baseball cities in the entire USA. Fans from St Louis and Boston can probably give you the exact starting line-up an hour before LaRussa and Francona release it. Yankees fans? Shit, they have no idea why Robinson Cano is sitting today's game against Scott Kazmir. St Louis and Boston fans recognize the critical points of the game. The successful sacrifice in a 9th inning tied game will get a standing ovation in St Louis. A late inning 12 pitch AB that finally draws a home team walk in Boston will do the same. Yankees fans? They haven't a clue and are more concerned with getting out of the parking lot before the rest of the crowd. St Louis and Boston are real baseball cities.
wow, just wow

your comments about Yankee fans really says alot about your credibility goose, or lack thereof.............I hate everything about the Red Sox and especially their fans, but there is one thing I wouldn't call them and that is not knowledgeable of the game

ICAP: Three posts within 5 minutes? I guess I hit a nerve. I will have to admit that you are the #1 NYY fan here at covers that I trust for handicapping. You have been an asset to my bankroll and I thank you sir. If only half of all NYY fans were as knowledgeable and dedicated as you...
